    t-17 pictures

That's not something you see every day. Nice track, all ready for Christmas.

Last 10 Ton from Beyel Bros.

If it's a donor truck anyway, and somebody has to be the first to bob one all singled out...rofl

    to much gasoline?

6.45 MPG, not 15.5. With hills, doesn't seem out of line, though.

    What are they?

The way the tips are ground on the steel one suggests a homemade spanner/spud wrench for something. The aluminum one ...?

Question about 5 ton on eBay

This used to sit outside of his fenced storage yard, way in the back of the yard under the overpass from West Ashley to Charleston. I stopped and looked at it a year ago- no top, pigeon poop all over, by the edge of the swamp. It disappeared some months ago, I guess that's when it went into his...

    U.S.S. Kitty Hawk FS

I feel fortunate to have the old Yorktown here in Charleston. I get to see her every day on my way to work, and it is a great place to visit, climb around in, and feel the history. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of money just to slow the decay down to a reasonable level even on a static display...

would you give up your wife for your truck?

"she even understands the grinding until 0100." I remember when I could do that.:-D

    Federal F55 AF

I used to see one of those in Conicville, VA of all places, up the hill a ways behind the store. I never went up close, it was on private property. I always liked the curve of the roof and the overall lines of the cab. Didn't know what it was until now. Love this site. Wonder if it's still...

That is one great looking truck. Thank you for sharing. One question- What are those tires?

    Stuck in my yard....TWICE!!

dm, I'm just impressed that you had the presence of mind to take so many great pictures as Things Went Bad. Only a true Steel Soldier would remember that the "thread would be worthless without pics" in the midst of so much unplanned landscape modification. Thank you. O.P.S. (Other people's...

    Patton vehicles

Well, the makers of the movie didn't get into vehicle accuracy too much. The German tanks were m-47's, the U.S. tanks were M-24's. They tended to be shown in set piece battles, where the tanks were lined up like Civil War cannons. The trucks were Reo's, and I think I remember that some of the...

    My M1009 in Flames.

How much of an increase in top speed did you notice from this classic performance mod?

    duramax/allison into M715...Installation in progress

Putting 3/4 ton IFS running gear under a 5/4 ton truck that should be rolling proud on solid axles seems ... wrong. The powerplant/transmission swap however- sweet.

    Arkansas Tank?

I just wasted 5 minutes staring at that.

Found this picture from my travels

Hopefully it would turn out better than that fiasco.
