    S-318 extending

I know alittle about galvanic corrosion, that's why I was worried about using steel, I was just hoping if I kept everything primed/ painted and used a corrosion inhibiting paste between all the places there were dissimilar metals it would last a long time. But like you mentioned it's the best...

    S-318 extending

Thank you, that was what I was looking for and gives me a bit to think about. The main part that worries me is the welding aluminum, I can weld steel just fine just don't have the tools or know how for aluminum. Would it be crazy to extend it with steel and rivet/bolt it together ?

    S-318 extending

Probably a foolish question but how hard would it be to make a s-318 longer to fit my long bed. A s-250 is too short as well and I got the s-318 for a good price. Just wondering if anyone had worked on the shelters much. Any thought would be appreciated.

    Weight of M1010 ambulance body

Just need to find an ambulance box nearby.

    Weight of M1010 ambulance body

Yeah that's what it's kinda looking like, I weighed the truck at the dump with me in it and a full tank of diesel I was at about 6500 pounds. So if I say the existing bed is 500 that would put me at 8k with the ambulance body on. The gvwr of the truck is 8800. If I could shed 400-500 pounds off...

    Weight of M1010 ambulance body

Thanks for the in depth reply, those were about the numbers I had com up with as well, I was hoping that removing the the ac, heater and benches would bet more of a loss. Looks like I'll be 1k under the gross vehicle weight, cutting it alittle close.

    Weight of M1010 ambulance body

Doing alittle research on a possible swap I was kicking around. Thinking of getting a m1010 ambulance body and putting it on my 3/4 ton 2nd gen cummins extended cab. I'm thinking the gvwr might be to close with body so I was wondering if anyone know the weight of one that has been stripped down...

    M37 Barn Find

Would you happen to have plans for the old one? Been looking for a tail gate for my truck.

Anybody Know of a WC53 for sale?

I saw this one (online), maybe too rough though. If I had the money I would pick it up.

Maybe a WC-12 saved from the scrapyard

Yeah no qualms about matching serial numbers since someone already swapped the engine with a Chrysler 251. I might pick-up one of the engines from the guy I got the truck from one of them at least still is complete and wasn't sitting out in the elements exposed. Yeah let me know when your...

Maybe a WC-12 saved from the scrapyard

Thanks for the info on the vins. I'll have to try a bit more aggressive sandjng, I tried a wire wheel and 200 grit sandpaper paper so far. Where do you find the date of delivery? There are no tags on the dash or glove box. From what I have seen the cabs are pretty close, there are small...

Maybe a WC-12 saved from the scrapyard

So I got the plate that one of the previous owners put on since the frame started to crack. Unfortunately the vin # is not all that legible anymore, I can make out a few of the numbers but it is too rust pitted on the others. Also another dilemma is that the military cab is pretty beat and I...

    Ben Hur Trailer Worth Saving

I like it as well, I would have a use for it if your still wanting to part with it.

Maybe a WC-12 saved from the scrapyard

Thanks, I'll check to see how bad it is after cleaning out all the bugs and rust. Yeah right now I have a bunch of parts that I'll need and I bet I'll find more as I go. Like a bed, seat, windsheild parts that hold it open, rear window grille and more. Yeah if the Guy restoring 1.5 ton trucks...

Maybe a WC-12 saved from the scrapyard

Yeah, two valves broke off just by touching them. Guess I'll start tearing the front apart to get that engine out.
