Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

Liftking 20C Rough Terrain Container Handler Poked the carriage, forks and pin shaft into the shop with the 15k Hyster (also ex-military ex New York State property!) wearing 9' fork extensions that prove handy for carrying things 90° to the norm like how i handed the carriage to the towmotor...

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

The mast was mounted with the aid of our 1938 Oshkosh (#1097) wrecker/gin pole truck. Hyster wasn't tall enough to make it easy. Waiting on new roller bearings shipped out today for the fork carriage which needed rebuilding we discovered before getting the forks pinned back on and putting her in...

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

The forks are approx. 8" wide, 4" thick, 8 feet long and weigh almost 3/4 ton each!

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

Middle picture was at a NYS Thruway service plaza just after dark when I lost the trailer lights (of course.) Did some rewiring and ended up with running lights on 24 volts bypassing that circuit in my homebrew 24 to 12 volt and military to civilian light cord converter box. That's a mechanical...

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

Lol, tonight i can sleep for the first time since winning this forklift without xanax! Last night the load was going to be over weight, over width, over height and unable to travel on the "big road." Doghead, you're the man!

The 10k Pettibone is certainly easier to move in one piece. Looked pretty mean behind the M818 on the way home from Drum. It will be interesting to see them parked beside each other. I was unloading some stuff the other day with it and the guys thought i was joking about it being the small forklift.

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

Big difference in going down the road around 14' high or 13' high. I am even going to see about overwidth permit for NY thruway now. The M932 would be happier, me too!

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

Won a military surplus Liftking LK-20C container handler/forklift from NY State and luckily Doghead met me in Syracuse, NY DOT yard in his CUCV to pick up a Holmes 750 wrecker towbar he has been working on delivery logistics for years. He quickly pitched in trying to help us get the...

14.00R20 Super Singles to 11.00R20 duals

For an off road fire truck super singles like you already have fit the projected use best. For all the reasons Uncle Sam put them there you want them too! Rocks and mud don't get trapped like they do with duals, better traction, a little more ground clearance, better flotation on the front axle...

OK... I admit it... that first step in the M925A1 is a Bit%$ .. what have others done

I got a fold down step used to get up on the rear deck of a semi and looking forward to getting it in place up front between the grill and front bumper. Fortunately the work is mostly done with the front winch putting the bumper out there. Getting in and out of my M818 is hard but compared to...
