Old Jeep Rendezvous Ashton, Idaho July 6, 2013

The area around the Old Jeep Rendezvous is loaded with wonderful and scenic places to visit in your old Jeep. Also, Ashton is about an hour away from the West Entrance of Yellowstone Park and about the same distance from Jackson Hole. The Rendezvous would be a good place to plan a vacation...

Sorry you won't be able to make it! We’re hoping folks come to the Old Jeep Rendezvous for two reasons: 1. Meet and Greet other Old Jeep owners at the City Park in the morning. 2. Drive your Old Jeep and see some great sights in the afternoon. Here are a few of the places you...

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

We came around a corner in our M38A1 one day last summer and found this guy standing up on his hind legs about 40 yards away from us. When we first saw him he was on the little hill you can see through the passenger side windshield. We stopped, he stood up on his hind legs and looked at...

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the story. Best wishes on your project! A "50"? I like that idea, I'll add it to the list. We have a few other pesky things around here besides trees that would be good for . . .

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

You are so right. We've bought and sold a lot of old stuff over the years and in the end, when the talking is done, that's the final answer. I've been trying to keep my son-in-law informed of potential values for his stuff. And, I'm trying to decide how WILLING a buyer I might be. :)

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

The $$$$$$ Question I'm curious to know what you think this truck might be worth. I know there will be a range of answers, that's okay, I'd just like to hear what you think a reasonable price is in the current market.

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

Thanks, it is an amazing story. It's an amazing truck! For it to sit as long as it has and then, without any major repairs, be running down the road, is, well, "Amazing!". I'm feeling very fortunate to have been involved with it. (By the way Danger Ranger, I spent 6 seasons as an NPS law...

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

First drive video We took the truck for it's first drive yesterday. What a blast! I like everything about this truck, the sight, the sound and the smell! Actually (thanks to my wife!) this is three videos together as one. It begins with the video we took of the trees before we started...

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

Thanks! I've enjoyed working on this truck as much as any project I've ever done. Great feeling of satisfaction getting it back into functional condition. Couldn't have done it without all the good help from all on Steel Soldiers! My time to work on the trucks will be very limited from this...

Bringing an M35A2 out of the trees and back on the road

Update: the brakes work! This truck continues to amaze me. When I got started on the brakes I thought I'd have to take the system apart and repair or replace the major components. Instead, I tapped on the master cylinder to free it up, found and repaired several leaks, bled the system...

Trying to get two m220's running after a long rest

JD 4010 w/ a #58 loader. Thanks for the tip on the bore scope. I'm about to the point where I'm ready to hook on to it and give it a few tugs to see if it will break loose. Nothing violent, just an easy pull or two.

Trying to get two m220's running after a long rest

No progress to report on the M220 or Boyce trucks, I've been spending what time I have working on the M35A2 brakes. But I was driving the tractor the other day as we laid some pipe down in one of the fields when I took this picture of M220 #2 (engine still won't turn). Thought I'd pass it on.
