Problem solved, though I’m not exactly sure how this came about. Things were fine till one day on the way home she quit charging. I “think” my first investigation must have had me quick checking relays, which didn’t solve the problem. When I popped the cab I saw my alternator bolt, the big...
So my alternator quit charging. According to the manufacturer trouble shooting procedure my alternator and regulator are good. If I jump 24V to the ENG term on the regulator everything charges fine, which says regulator and alternator are functioning as advertised. My oil pressure reads good...
Well NASA described it as powerful, so that’s good enough for me. Remote region of Canada? It was the entire province of Quebec, almost 2.5x the size of Texas, almost 3x the size of France. Not sure how they feel about being “remote”, Quebec City, Montreal and all that.
Can it happen? Of...
I don't really see that as making the case. An our long HF blackout, no matter how extensive, doesn't strike me as armageddon. As far as a "grid ending" solar CME, it's already happened. In 1989 one of the largest known ejections in modern history knocked the entire province of Quebec off...
I've said my bit on this subject, and since it's not my money being spent, more power to whomever. I've done enough research to be satisfied that an EMP attack is so low on the list of things to worry about as to not even be an issue. Research that didnt come from websites with Prep, Survive...

Since someone else revived this Zombie thread, I dont have to feel guilty so.....
Its giving me a headache. My supposedly new 6TLs took a dump. I'm still trying to work out which of the 4, if any, are still viable but in any case will drop down to a 2 batt config. At least for now...
I'm down with the spares, though on this particular ride I haven't gotten to that point yet. I'm still at the point of replacing, if I can just get the TIME these days.
