It has been an amazing upgrade for me. I did however do the turbo upgrade offered by B&S. Adds another 100hp ish. I still have trouble on hills on the freeway with passengers, but it’s way better. I also have 40” tires. If I went down to smaller tire, I’m sure it would help

dang I tried brazing alloy from a local welding supply and no go… I hooked up the alternator after my quick fix and it’s not charging. I think I just got it too hot😢😩. I should have waited for more advice… $800 mistake. Ugh

I tried to separate the case, but it's pretty involved. I think it's aluminum?

I don't have machining equipment unfortunately. It's not magnetic, so I'm assuming it's cast aluminum? I wouldn't mind purchasing some steel for you to do some magic!

I forgot to put the spacer in and broke the housing. Can it be welded? If not does anybody know where I could get a new case because the alternator is good still. TIA!

Do not use Monster. They are TERRIBLE!!!!

This is a great writup. I used what you said and this was super easy. No need to buy new shafts if they are t making noise IMO. My rig has low miles, but 30 years of rubber sitting causes the boots to break and start throwing grease. I am super diligent about maintenance so lucked out to see...

So apparently one is for the back light, and the other for the Park safety switch. The unit did not come with a reverse switch
