    Late Model USAF M35A2C Registry

Just added truck #3 to my mini-fleet yesterday. It was my first auction win and recovery. came from Robins and of course has the usual slime and clogged fuel system that most of those Deuces have from there. Barely made it home, but we did and the reconstruction will now begin! Details below...

Best route heading North from Robins AFB in a newly won A2?

Thanks everyone for the advice. It is an M35A2 btw. I actually own one already and will be using one for actual work and one as a collector vehicle. After I get this new acquisition, I'll determine which one is going to be which. My current Deuce has been used for minor work, but it's in...

Best route heading North from Robins AFB in a newly won A2?

Hi, I am picking up an A2 from Robins whenever my EUC clears and was wondering what would be the best route to take from the AFB not knowing anything about the truck and possible issues. Will need to head toward Jackson,GA area which I know is right off of I-75, but not sure if the interstate...

What Plates on a Deuce in GA

Just wondering how you guys are coming up with the 26,000lb tag? My truck weighs 13,000 plus the payload of 10,000 which is 23,000lbs. My a3 is 14,000lbs plus the 10,000lbs payload for 24,000 total. Why are you saying 26,000lb? Do you get a choice of either an 18,000lb or a 26,000lb as the...

Deuce Dirt hauling capacity in yards?

Looks like I'm going for 6 yards from what I'm getting told by the distributor. Considering all of the rain that we've been getting lately, I may have to back it down to 5 yards due to the moisture content. I really appreciate everyone that chimed in!

Deuce Dirt hauling capacity in yards?

I'm not sure what the dirt weighs, but need to find out.

Deuce Dirt hauling capacity in yards?

I've did the calculation to come up to the 5.33yds, but just wanting some real world experiences. As far as the TM, I didn't look there since I figured that the Military would not have used these trucks for hauling dirt since they have real dump trucks for that. Thanks

Deuce Dirt hauling capacity in yards?

I've searched the threads and see where people are posting about hauling gravel, dirt etc by the ton etc. Does anyone know what the capacity in yards of dirt that the deuce could haul? I know that the short side walls limit the amount, but I was thinking that it could be dumped in and mounded up...

A2 vs A3 crashed in the driveway-the aftermath

Since I've had a chance to reflect on the mess, I've decided to go ahead and tear it down and write a parts estimate like a body shop would and then get a good idea on the repair amount. Like I posted previously, the cab is rusted through in multiple locations and now it looks like a sardine can...

A2 vs A3 crashed in the driveway-the aftermath

Thanks for the reassurances! I've found some replacement parts on eBay already. At least this has got me involved in swapping the cab like I had planned! So blessed not to have anyone seriously injured! Notice the minor scrapes and lack of damage on the ole A2!

A2 vs A3 crashed in the driveway-the aftermath

Well old Deuce 1 and modernized deuce 0. This is what 14,000 lbs worth of truck rolling rather backing at you from the bed with no brakes does to another one that can't get out of the way quick enough. Lessons learned: deuces don't stop with the engine off and the air brake compressor not...

    Bonedoc's M35A2 modification thread

Could you tell me how you was able to get the front two nuts off of the compressor to remove it from the base? It is an 11/16 nut and I've tried multiple sockets and even a crows foot, but the stupid compressor is shaped as to keep a socket or a box end wrench to slip over the nuts. I don't fee...

Green fever struck, got another MV & need rust repair advice

To clear up my post, I have an A2 and an A3. I truly enjoy the more modern updates that the A3 has vs my A2, but the A2 and the multifuel whistler has it's place in my heart too! I really believe that either my 89' A2 was kept inside of the USAF hanger due to lack of rust or that the A3 being...

Green fever struck, got another MV & need rust repair advice

I've recently acquired my first MV, a USAF 89' A2 and am still working it back into shape, but it seems as if the "Green Fever" that I've read about has now struck! It's funny how driving an MV around gets you the attention and the leads to purchase other MVs. I ended up getting a low mileage...
