Caveat, this applies when you have the exciter/VR energized. Otherwise the generator doesn't care what the motor is doing. Also, is the fuse for the DC circuit blown?
That model, which a number of us have has a selector switch to run 3phase, single phase 120, or single phase 120/240. It will run your house, your neighbors house, and probably another one.
Seriously. I had my central air, three fridge/freezers, two window air units, a two 2ton a/c unit in my...
On a small scale, sure it's all well and good, especially if you know you are running a lot of resistive loads. In reality, on the large(r) scale, ie power production, voltage and current tend to be inversely proportional.
And don't forget that since there is so much rotating mass that they will easily start 20-30KW. That's a 200-300% peak output for starting loads. Your box gensets are lucky to start 110%
Hey now, isn't that my line? My gawd, we now have the seat bolt, and Jesus nut. What are we coming to? I may have to go to church this Sunday and pray over this one.
That has to be a pretty tall order on any three phase machine to manage load within 10% between phases. I gotta say, in all my years, I've never checked while running our generator.
I'll have to look when I get back to work.
DUG, remember those sweet 109's that came out of sparta last year for a bit more than $4000?
Those were nice. IIRC they were winch trucks....things that could've been...
It might be worth trying to figure out how to let that truck go. For the shipping, recovery, prep and possible costs of unforseen complications of driving that all the way from cali, you could've got a sweet truck from sparta or riley if they are still running them through.
Nevermind that Camp...
Are those engines in relatively decent condition usually? It's just, in all your threads, and videos, they seem to run and you don't take them apart. Are parts even available?
