I just took mine out for a drive - and got a new inspection sticker on it. Now she'll be ready to roll out in the spring. Ready for a long winter's rest...
Yes - but be forewarned that a significant amount of the noise made by the genset isn't from the exhaust, but from all the other engine components thrashing about. A muffler might not make all that significant a dent in the noise from your set.
Triple Jim hit the nail squarely - the non-linearity in the fuel consumption between the 002 and 003 serving the same load is from the frictional losses of all those extra engine parts, as well as the large rotational load you need to keep spinning at speed - namely, the rotating parts of the...
What did I did I to to my truck this week? I started it, and used it as a 13,500 pound rolling air compressor to fill the flat tires on the lawn tractor. I know that's not much of a task for an M35, but it beat dragging a hundred feet of hose out of the garage to do the same task.
What's your fuel price? In an M35 you might get around 8 MPG (unloaded) in Imperial measure. Think about that before diving in. Yes, you can burn all kinds of 'waste' oil that will appear to cost less, but everything is a double edged sword. You'll be paying to filter it, and repair stuff that...
What kind of a printer are you using? Home shop, or printed at work?
I have access through work to some nice machines, but unfortunately that lab is 2,660 miles west of me so it makes things a little inconvenient.
Nicely done. Even a couple hundred miles can be tiring in the M35. More than 500 miles a day for five days straight, that can wear you out. Take a break!
I think the biggest thing missing from the discussion is the mechanical connection between the two wires to be joined. Solder makes a good electrical connection - but not a mechanical connection. It's too weak to be placed under repeated mechanical stress and survive - which is why I mention it...
May I suggest putting up something really simple for 20m - a dipole. For 20m, it doesn't really need to be all that high up, either. That will get you going without much fuss, and as long as you're not trying to chase down DX at the very margins of signal level it should work just fine.
You...
I don't know exactly how to answer the question of longevity - since the covers I'd obtained were all used and there's no way of knowing how long they were exposed to the elements.
That said, the only failures I've had so far were the thread used to stitch them together failing - not the vinyl...
I find it interesting that the Olive-Drab numbering and the linked schematic are clearly in disagreement with each other when it comes to the illumination circuitry numbering. Anyone know which one is correct?
I work for an ISO 9001 company. It's a standard for documentation - typically related to process. It's not a measure of quality produced - only that whatever process you're using to produce whatever you produce is documented in compliance with the standard. You'll see a lot of tools from places...
A block heater is nice to get it to start easily on cold days.
For my A2, 5,000 pounds of rubble in the bed also helps when it's snowing out. Without weight in the bed it's hard to get traction. At least that was my experience with limited operation in Winter - I try to avoid it, since I don't...
