Nice Score Axshon! Congrats!
on the bateries... I picked up (2) first week of November
First was a 6-month old NAPA group 31 (USED battery) from my local starter alternator shop for $40. Then I had Wifey pick up a 3-month old DEKA group 31 (used battery) from our local INTERSTATE Battery...
Picked up my 37" BFG Baja TA Military tires today. The inside of the tires are coated with a super sticky black tar like subatance. I'm not sure if this was a military spec sealant or if this was added after they were removed. The stuff is still liquid enough to drool out of the tires. It...
I should have taken a pic of my cover before I removed it.
The silicone / probably not laid well had pulled loose, the cover had cracked, the speaker hole location and size were of a funky looking orientation. Granted this cover was probably laid by the national guard 10+ yrs pre auction. I...
I'd ride the motorcycle out and drive the truck back. Sometime you gotta have alternate transportation to source parts and make roadside repairs. Also a scheduled stop over at a fellow cucv enthusiast house along the way could help settle grimlins and trim some cost.
For me 50 is comfortable...
Thanks for the pic & details Viper~ That picture about says it all. I think that will work.
I'm seriously considering late model 3/4 ton rear springs and rework / replace the front and rear hangers. I did a similar swap with 2002 1/2ton Chev 2wd rear springs on a 99 Tacoma TRD last year.
I have not done a good job on chronicling the dash issue. Thus far it has been the white elephant in the living room ~ Riding around 3 weeks now with NO dash pad.
I'll attach a few pictures but I can not get the issues I face (Bent dash shell) to show on camera very well.
Back story: My...
I found this info stamped into the face of the dash pad of a 1985 C-10 (behind the plastic face trim / pass side)

Davidson Rubber Co.
Looking up Davidson Rubber Co. / The article says they have long been out of business and the dash pad industry moved over seas.
I'll have to take a closer look at flipping the stock rear shackle mounts. Torch and welder are always at the ready. That might be just enough to get me by until I can figure out which rear springs I want to run long term. Carrying 2500 lbs in the bed is not on my to do list. I'm thinking...
That was me! Thanks for posting up. That is a clean K5
Since I sold my 97 Acura TL I'm now daily driving the Diesel.
What do you recommend for the rear?
For front I have a set of Front Tuff country HD 4" springs on the way and I'm looking at the 1" zero rates to offset/center the...
Big C-clamp and switching back to the stock lower pin worked well. Ended up needing (2) of the thinnest body shims behind the two lower most bolts. Probably as a result of the excess hammer work.
Just purchased upper and lower pin assemblies for my M1008. Upper went smooth as butter. Lower has been an hour+ headache. Finally had to resort to the dremmel tool cutting the pin in two for removal. Bushings installed smooth but trying to drive the new pin's serrated shoulder down into the...
It's gotta tow my 16" tandem axle 10k. Not that it will ever see 10K but it will see 5-6 on rare occations. Maybe I'll have to take mine back and look to my fab guy for a custom class 3.
Not the temp switch ~ but the fast idle switch..
How Much??? $153.99 @ my local parts house...
I'll take my chance on a used one for that much.

How do you like the bolt on hitch? I bough the same one. Hoping to catch the two bottom pintel bolts and come out enough with the bottom plate to weld a thick bead hitch plate to bumper plate. Still undecided about how to handle the two bolts visible in your photo.
**** Found two...
I've been shopping these for 2-3 weeks and will be ordering the ones listed above tomorrow. Looks like the price and quality is unmatched. Will also be ordering the value priced shocks from them as well. Other then lack of corrosion protection on the chrome shock shaft and painted housing...
