I used a roll pin from a Harbor Freight variety pack for mine. IIRC it needed slight trimming with a grinder to fit in the gear's notch.
I cleaned and greased everything up with ngli 1 grease while I was in there.

Amazon link is out of stock ATM. I think itd require some modifications anyway, but the idea is a brace that spans the frame, and a hoist in the...
Bit of a necro-post, but I found a RV trailer tire mount/hoist, designed to adjust for different frame width. Amazon shows it as unavailable sometimes, but the idea is good.
They're 12v batteries, wired as 2 strings of 2 batteries each, assuming nobody has replaced them with something weird.
Most 12v battery chargers are isolated enough to allow you to just connect them to a pair of batteries in a string and they'll happily charge it. If you do it that way, take a...
Found a pic of the dash, just shy of 24k miles and 445hrs. Engine ran strong, and idled smoothly. It had 5w40 synthetic for the last few thousand miles, much of it highway.
I have a take off injection pump, lines, and 6+1 injectors from a LDT-465-1c. It all worked when pulled, I think one of the little wooden line holders is missing.
Asking $400, LanceRobson will be bringing it for me. If you want it, give him a yell. If you have questions, or want pictures...
I have a white LD-465-1c non turbo, needs IP swapped out. Comes with spare working IP, and a second set of used injectors.
Civilian 6.2L diesel w/ th400 trans & np208 t-case. 96k miles.
More stuff later.
If those are straight o-ring plugs, they may be SAE hydraulic spec. I'll measure the rear one when I have it out.
After poring through the p2p diagrams, I still have no idea what the electrical plug in the front port is for. Time to experiment.
I'm trying to add a boost gauge to my dad's 5-ton, but there is a dearth of information about where to tap into.
There's 3 ports on the driver's side of the intake manifold.
Front one looks like coolant temp.
Middle looks to be usable, as it feeds the IP's booost/smoke control.
Rear port...
Alternators designed to charge off-grid batteries include all sorts of limit systems, as well as overbuilt cooling. Rotor temp sensing, stator temp, erectifier & regulator temp, battery temp, compensation for voltage drop in battery cables, etc.
Charging a dead 4-battery system is a lot to ask...
They have an internal controller that will need adjustment and an aftermarket external box to convince it to work with a non-standard engine.
The 4L80E has an aftermarket computer available, as well as a replacement valvebody that apparently lets it use the OD gear as a gear-splitter, giving it...
Diesel-hotrod sites have great information, but modern diesel engines & turbos have better metalurgy & can sustain higher EGT than our engines can.
If you pay close attenion to the EGT you can take your foot off the pedal if things get too hot, but a Digital gauge can turn on a light or a...
PVC is a really bad idea- it's attacked by UV, ozone, heat & vibration. It tends to shatter violently when it fails while pressurized with air. Google "PVC air line exploded." If your tank isn't stainless or aluminum, I wouldn't use it. Steel corrodes & plastic doesn't like UV and high pressure...
I recently acquired one used on eBay. The hardest part is that no seller uses the same title terms & there's a ton of stuff labeled "Spinner" or "centrifuge". eBay also recently broke their search engine by removing wildcards & making their own guesses as to what you meant.
Single 9.00-20's on the rear might get you under the limit. I'm not sure what road speed Dyno's test at, but single NDT's in first gear might have traction issues.
You can try calling Dynojet & ask them if you can push the weight limit a bit "Just This One Time." Worst they'll do is tell you...
On my '53 M109, the lighting & heater are not run through the master switch. Fuel pump, low-air buzzer, alternator & starter are switched. 5-tons use a big relay in the black control box to actually disable everything, rather than melt the dash switch.
If your start circuit is wired...
At the time the engine was produced, exhaust-driven turbochargers were also referred to as turbosuperchargers. I'm not sure when the engineers dropped the 'super' bit, but I suspect German influence in the original name. They seem to like those 3-12 word concatenations.
Belt-driven and...
