I have the 25 amp generator to 60 amp alternator kits with instructions (no alternator included) for $25 delivered in CONUS. Discounts on quantities. rampartsllc@aol.com PS This kit also fits several other early M series trucks.
Pop's GMC parts in NH. Do not try to use a M35 cylinder even though it looks the same.
I imagine the guy who offers the wheel cylinders there in Canada Niagara? would have em too.
Another example of 12V taps would be all the M800 series trucks... The connection for the 12 volt glowplug system is right in the battery box and the diagram showing the 12V tap is inside the cover. Don't be overengineering a solution to a problem that does not exist.
Interesting, how with the alternators wired in series they are able to discriminate between the batteries.... ... However I have tapped 12V off my M35 type trucks for 30 years without problems...but of course I am just a dumb yankee.
You can get mil locks keyed alike in sets....However most supply room folks don't research the fsns enough to do same. I just cut em off the trucks and put em in the brass scrap. New locks of the same type are about $10 ea at the mil flea mkts.
If you are using solid state radios, and not old vacuum tube types, the tapping of 12 v off one battery is just fine for just a few amperes. If you are a fanatic for battery life, you can switch batteries every 6 months or so. Remember that is how the whole darn truck is run in the Cucv...
According to Jatonka, the show went well, was well attended, had a day or so of rain but not as much as Aberdeen and the Parade went well and the vendors were satisfied.
GAA is just generic chassis lube...nothing exotic...been the same for years and years... used on the wagon wheels in the old days. GL1 is still in extensive use by the old tractor guys.. go to Tractor Supply and get it all you want.
Change fuel filter and pressure check lines back to tank... there are a lot of little rubber hoses to suck air...especially down by the tank... I would disconnect output side of the mechanical pump and check output volume and pressure while cranking.
