On an M931 what is the measurement from the back of the cab to the center of the middle axle? On an M923 it is 79", but I know it is less on an M931.
Looking to bob an M931 and put a utility body on it. Need to figure out what body will fit.
Would someone please...
Differential and Transfer Case Oil Seal M939 Series
I have tried the NAPA part that others have posted as a fit for this application. When I compared the NAPA seal to the military part the NAPA seal was not as substantial. I put it in anyway and it leaked as bad as the seal I took out. I then...
Something to keep in mind when considering adding a hydraulic winch to an M923 is that there is not much frame clearance on the side of the transmission where the PTO has to go. You will probably have to jack up the cab, take the engine and transmission loose, and jack them up and sideways away...
The electric hoist kits are the way to go for casual use. I put a really expensive twin ram setup in, and most of the cost was in getting the hydraulics plumbed and the resivoir size increased.
I'd say electric will work fine in 95% of the cases.
The dump trucks bring a high price because there are relatively fewer of them going through auctions, and they are very useful.
I put a 10 ton Rugby hoist under the bed of my M925 and use it on the farm. It is really handy. It was much more expensive to do than I thought it would be, even...
I concur.
Disagree.
Kerosene is essentially the same as No. 1 Diesel, used in cold weather all the time. It has less energy than No. 2 Diesel but doesn't hurt the engine any, you just burn more of it to get the job done.
I can't speak to the new diesels with all the EPA mandated pollution...
I disagree that it is an easy install. You just about have to pull the motor and transmission to get the PTO installed. There just isn't any room to spare there. Yes, you can disconnect all the mounts and jack the cab up, but if you want hydraulics, buy an M925. Or don't believe me, try it, and...
That's really nice work, Ken. That is exactly how I was going to do it but was going to use a bullet style high flow muffler. I think I will take your suggestion and increase to 5" pipe right under the cab.
What do you think of turning the exhaust down so it doesn't blow right into the Prius...
What they said. You don't need a CDL in Oregon to transport your personal property and don't need or want to stop at any weigh stations. As long as you have a temporary permit and insurance, you are good to go. Just hitch a ride and drive it home.
Apologize in advance for the one big paragraph - Windows 8 does not allow me to put in paragraph breaks ------------------------------------------------------------Didn't read all three pages of posts, but did read the TM. With 42" tires you can ford 84" which means to the bottom of the...
If you need a Jeep body, my Dad has them made out of stainless and galvanized both in the Phillipines and ships them here by the container load to sell. He owns the factory there and the bodies are nice. PM me if you want his contact info.
I ordered a Rugby hoist for my m925, hoping to get it picked up tomorrow. It is a scissors hoist, so it should work fine.
I don't remember the model number but it has the capacity to tip 10 yards of rock with the bed hinged at the back, no overhang.
I'll put some photos up here when I get it...
There's no need to pressure treat as the bows can be covered when on the truck.
Oak works great and can be bent, there is a thread here somewhere on how to do that.
Cheapest and easiest of all is to put a want ad here in the classifieds, and someone will sell you what you need for a reasonable...
