Thanks. Know anybody interested in repairing units? As far as I am concerned, I am good (for now), but I am sure several others are not...BTW, your handle... Light in the Dark... reminds me of Lucas... the prince of Darkness... -:) I am a lover of British cars and as such recognize the issues...
Actually I was able to fix ours. Pink lead inside broke loose, but before I had checked I put out a query for purchase in case it was available. I suspect the source is Mil. parts supplier for the gov.(aerobase group out of melbourne, fl) The entire purpose of the post was a share of my...
You would think some tech savvy member could get into the business of repairing/restoring these units... the quote I just got for an NOS unit... sit down... $ 14,500.00...
Well, here is my sequence... MEP-805B Generator would not start and panel showed a fault. Arrow was unresponsive in display. after reading several posts (thank you) I developed enough intestinal fortitude to open "pandora's box". After opening and being quite pleased at finding no water...
Thanks for the tip. I have been quoting the text and doing a "non-reply-reply" then it appears as black text on white background. What is even more interesting is that most web designers are young, and with either perfect or much better than mine color discrimination. Amusing sometimes is...
Again, Thank you all.
Wow!... I guess I have a lot to learn, even at my advanced age (65). I have homework to do.
I just plugged in cage code 18265 in Google and came up with Donaldson...
on a different topic... what is the meaning of "Cage Code" why not call it manufacturer, etc. Anyway...
Thank you for your reply and assistance.
At the risk of sounding ignorant, The manual I thought that applied to this genset gives me the part nos as (BTW I am not opposed to purchasing the entire unit... if I found the civilian part no... ):

who carries parts for an MEP-805B generator? I need an air cleaner cover + several other pieces. Is there a general source for parts for these other "green" toys? I have tried most of the usual suspects. Thanks
I just found the phone number for a good source(used fire suppression supply equipment place-he has helped me get and keep my FT500 Fire fighting setup on my Deuce running) his name is Dennis and his outfit is Quad city something or other... prices are very fair and he is very helpful. If you...
There are many 2nd hand fire supply /surplus outfits. ManyFD's will gladly give you a couple of 5 gal tubs just for asking, since you will be helping them out. If not, shipping is not that badand the distributor for fireade 2000 may be willing to spot you a couple of drums as PR, I know they...
You are correct, but if a piece of equipment does catch fire or certain patch is ignited, the foam is a great resource to have, specially if it can be added for little money... a foam eductor is nothing more than a variable ventury that sucks the foam solution out of the 5 gal. container and...
Looks awesome and should work as well. I was wondering if somewhere doen the hose you had considered a foam eductor unit for those special fires. My original fire truck FT500 came with a built in tank for foam... it required dumping the 5 gal bucket into the foam receptacle and from that point...
Know what??? my little deuce drafted and put out the fire that the big FD could not (because it could not draft-and hydrants were 2000 ft away) and 1 hour later we boogalooded back to the station while the big, bad fire truck (all cool and everything) went home with it's tail between its legs...
Know what is funny... just took a look at my 45KW Onan genset at work w a JD 6 cylyinder motor w water pump problems... and guess what... identically the same pump (except 6 cylinder instead of 4) and mounts horizontally, not vertically... who would have thunk???
I have a theory... all diseases...
