Maybe. I seemed to recall some of my neurophysiology study from Kandel and Schwartz some decades ago so I dug around a bit.
Jury's out.

I prefer red. and the light coming through the faded dyes on the...
This works for me, you might try it.
Red lighting preserves night vision. Never could figure out a rationale for GREEN panel lighting.
I bought a small bottle of Vitrea 100 glass paint and some Eiko 6S6/30V bulbs (about $8 and $10, respectively), but didn't like the paint finish. Might've...
Question is, really, with all that other godawful racket from the engine, how can ANY of us hear that hissing?
I got wrapped around the axle over this a month or so ago for a few moments. I’ve owned my M1038 going on 2-1/2 years and that was the FIRST time I heard the hissing from under the...
I second that.
I bought a case of 12 Wix filters for my HMMWV last year (18 mos maybe?) for less than $60 on sale, seem to recall paying about $6 each delivered.
I already had a half dozen Purolator (didn’t they invent oil filters?) per LO requirements (whatever matched the NSN) on hand but...
Holy zombie post, Batman!
Did this ever get resolved?
Are there non-working battery packs to be found for rebuild?
Anyone have the details on the components needed (case, thermistor, heating pad wattage/model) from mouser, digikey, ePay?
Awaiting delivery of one of these from Henry’s Trucks...
At least you have a battery pack, which is a good start. I understand they can be repaired (do a google search on this site for SHC60, you’ll find the threads), replacement internal batteries - 2V cells - aren’t cheap, the actual packs new run around a grand, it seems.
Wanna sell your pack...
Well, if you read about the travails of the MEP-series genset owners who have done everything short of disassembling their units to remove the fuel/water separator, you might think thrice about putting one in your Humvee.
I got lucky. I only needed to use a TEKTON filter wrench, which still...
Welcome Jarhead, Gyrene, US MF Marine! I had many a lost weekend with my Marine friends (I was Army) at several duty stations many decades ago. Flaming shots of 151 - whoof!
You've come to the right place.
Great group here, helpful as the day is long.
You, like a LOT of us, seem to recall a...
Welp...
Went to ACE hardware yesterday, with parts in hand, found o-rings to fit 1/4-20 bolt, actually 6mm ID metric, about 3mm thick.
I used one for the inside of the bowl, one for the spacer between the filter and filter itself.
For OUTSIDE the bowl, I found a sink valve washer with 1/4" ID...
Welcome to the madness.
I know ONE HMMWV owner, “AOR”. Passed along an “extra” 12 bolt rim to him, let him sit in my HMMWV and he had one of his own within weeks; then I sold my M1102 trailer to him.
Several other owners here.
There’s a parts guy, Brett, his dad (RIP) used to post here as...
I don't think so.
Note the gaskets provided do NOT include one for the base, which is where the housing is leaking.
(BTW - it wasn't leaking before I replaced the filter)
Only ONE of the larger gaskets is required; the one that comes with the WIX filter fits the recess, but WIX doesn't...
I mentioned this in the other thread on “MEP 802-803 filters”
The third stage filter (just before the injector “tree”) leaked. A lot.
Fast forward to sourcing new seals, cleaning out about a gallon of spilled fuel (really really), and the thing STILL leaks.
How hard is this, anyway?
There...
What they said, plus, what, nobody mentioned the ever-popular "Swellman" glow plugs?
Yes. DISCONNECT GROUND (seriously consider installing a keyed ground disconnect switch - details here somewhere) ANYTIME you work on electrics. I got lucky, mine ran, but blew a LOT of white smoke (unburned...
