Before I begin, I didn't have a camera and I have an antique cell phone. I found a wrecker yesterday in a guys bus yard. It is in pretty bad shape. The guy claims he was using it 3-4 years ago. Asking 2500 for it and said that the price is FIRM. Said he would rather it sit and wrought than sell...
I love my 1008. Been offered money for it more times than I have fingers. She isn't going anywhere. Is it a great offroad vehicle-no. It does however get me where I need to be, with no payment, cheap insurance, and minimal maintenance expenses. She always starts and is fun as hell to drive...
My dad was a member of our local vfd when I was a kid. No fire station so the members parked the fire equipment at their homes. We had an old GI Dodge brush truck on our property, have no idea what it was, I was a kid at the time. Used it to irrigate the pasture. That was really cool as a kid.
If leaking, it would make it a pain in the a$$ to start. If you end up needing a pump. Check into getting yours rebuilt. I had it done and it was a fraction of the cost for a replacement.
I have found that mine will pop out sometimes in 4hi. As for the grinding, try engageing/diengaging 4lo with the transmission in N. You may already do this. I think the few times mine has slipped out of 4hi was my fault. Getting in a hurry and not making sure the lever was locked in all the way.
I have got a buddy in the site development bussiness that has two of them with 1,500 gal tanks for site work. They work great, but, we have flat ground and no ice or snow here in Florida.
My EUC just got sent to Battle Creek, not my first, so it should not be long. Has, or is anyone going to Redstone in the near future? I would really appreciate a quick inspection of my duece. Lot 3948, its the one with the flat front tire. It would be a big help in my recovery preparations.
I was considering driving mine back to florida from redstone. About a 650 mile trip. Has me a little nervous . Good luck, I hope all goes well. All those hours in a duece may be a life changing experience.
I installed a modern cd player/tuner on my 1008 in the stock radio space. Took time and patience to trim the plastic. It looks good. Not as cool as IRWFO's install. Went a step further and istalled two 6" speakers in the doors.
I don't know about that snow part. I have never seen the stuff, let alone drive in it. Maybe they will take their time with the EUC, and that won't be an issue.
Probably going to have it shipped, Thanks for the heads up on the brakes, did you inspected the trucks? If so, this one has a flat on the front passenger side. If you are able to look at it for me when you are there picking up yours that would be great. If it looks, good I may attempt the...
I won an M35 on 2/19 at Redstone Arsenal. If any members are going there in the near future,a quick look over of lot 3948 would be greatly appreciated.
Only thing I can see from the pictures is that she has a flat tire. Thanks again.
