When you engauge the 4x4 it puts air in a few places in the drive train to keep water out. Those hoses should have around 5psi i believe. I would guess they should hook into the boot going forward and the boot going back from the tranny to the axles. Just push them back in. To be dropping your...
One of the front cab mounts got ripped off putting the cab back on, the other looks weathered. Ei has new ones for 260 plus shipping.
Near as i can tell the flu419 front cab mount is one of a kind. Is there a reason they use that style?
Wondering about changing styles to a more normal kind...
What is wrong with it? if it is just the shift fork on the lid easy fix, you seem to know your way around this stuff better than i so guessing it is more than that.
The books are good to look at, i printed it off and even glanced at it a few times. Probably should have read it a bit better but...
Ouch, i can see why you are worried. How sure are you it is the tranny vs the rest of the drivetrain? Hoping rear end or tube to it could be bad if you have in 2 wheel drive.
Can you engage the rear hydraulics?
Got a gov planet flu419 out of texas as a project. They claimed it would crank with a jumper. Turned out engine was siezed and inside of tranny was a rusty mess even though it was rebuilt in 08, the gears were pitted and nothing would move. Probably should have parted it out, but ended up...
There is no way to see the inside. Photos of both ends and a person can see all the way through the tranny on that bolt and the other missing one on mine.
Take a Look in the manual for removing the front tube/driveline from the tranny to the front axle.(one of the steps to remove the tranny) I...
Or are you talking about the very back.
The top one is the only one that is not a through hole. I do not have a bolt handy to test on this one, but when i put the new trany in all the holes took bolts.
Working on the air lines, thank you all for the diagram a while back on how it should lay. Have any of you guys actually worked on yours?
Looking at mine with an eye to getting air to the tranny, there is only a vauge resemblance to the diagram. Near as i can tell only way to get air to the...
If it did not have that it probably did not have the rubber covers either? If not get them and replace them while you are doing this project, EI has them. At some point i will get to pull the shafts again just to change the rubber boot seal things.
I think you are talking about this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/181114204890?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338722076&customid=&toolid=10050
The FLU operated with out that and still worked ok, till now?
Hi all, Last year I started working on one of these. It probably should have been parted out, but has proved to be a great learning experiance. I replaced the engine and transimission last winter before calving out hundreds of cows, then making hay and now my slow season again I got the cab back...
Looks like you need to download 5-2420-224-34 and then start around page 5-16 STEERING KNUCKLE AND FRONT AXLE FINAL DRIVE REPLACEMENT.
I am pretty sure that will cover what you are doing. I think step 11 is your seal.
Looking it over, it does not look too bad. There are a number of seals a...
Thanks for the detailed write up.
I did end up opening the pump all the way, very simple inside and no check value other than the one that can be removed from the outside. At this point I have replaced all of the fuel hoses on the mog and tightened all the new clamps and after a week it is...
Priming the engine problems. When I go to prime the engine by hand it seems like there is a problem with the check value. If I pump fast enough I can fill the first filter, but as soon as I stop it starts dropping fast. I checked the small check valve beside the primer, it looks fine. I traded...
