Right on, Bruce! I was able to drive quite a few home when purchased from DRMO. Out of all the GL sales I bought deuces from, I wouldn't think of hitting the road in without a thorough going over.
See ya at Aberdeen.
GL-1 is available. It took some doing to find a supplier here in South Jersey, though. I purchase Shell from them. Try farm tractor shops. I've even read where some fellows found it at WalMart. I can't compete with their prices, but if any of you are willing to pay $30.00 for a 5-gallon pail and...
Red Neck,
My thoughts are along the lines of yours. Every front axle I pulled out of a M35A2
had the drive shaft type joints and I didn't see where lube would do much good.
Maybe someone with the right answer will come along and post.
You'd think I learned something from almost fifty years of doing oil burner service and finding so many floor joists and beams, but I didn't.
Ya got me beat on height, I'm 6'-5"
One of my old ladies got a real kick out of me banging my head against a MG bumperette. She just loved the ring of it...
Kenny,
I think the wording has been changed on their web site. Check their Rules. "Vehicles may move freely around the site as long as conditions allow." Speed Limit: 10 mph
A lot of cheap imports are out there, getting harder to find genuine miltary
NOS. Do the the ones you bought have a brand name on them? I found
a few good ones two years ago at Aberdeen.
Rare to find the extinguishers in a color other than red. The hood handles are
an added item. Hearsay has it that the Marines and/or Navy usually installed
them. When it comes to lifting the hood, I stand between the bumper and
front of the truck to unlatch and lift the hood some, then I step...
Title services issue a Bill of Sale, not actual title. In most states this will get you a
title, but a lot of states, including NJ, are cracking down on these and some states
will no longer issue a title on the Bill of Sale. You better check with your motor vehicle
services. Just tell them that...
I got rid of my underpowered multifuel wrecker and bought one with a Cummins. Most of you are not familiar with the Delaware Memorial Bridge that connects NJ & DE, but it's a long, high one. Now, instead of limping up it in 3rd gear with the multi, I don't even have to downshift to 4th with the...
You should at least put new tubes and flaps in the front runners. Tubes stretch and when reused they often create folds that chafe and cause leaks. Personally, I never reuse a tube when replacing tires. I'll reuse a flap if it's pliable and does not have any cracks.
You registered it heavy enough to require inspection. No inspection for diesel trucks 10,000 GVW to 16,000 lb. GVW, that's why I registered mine under 16,000 lb. GVW. I never carry a load, so I'm okay. If you don't plan on heavy loads or don't sweat scales, then go back and reregister for under...

Interesting, I've never seen tags like that. I did get a 1953 Studebaker M35A2 in that had the original data plate pop riveted to the inside of the glove box door. I really like that!
It should be in two places, a data plate on the dash and on the left front frame rail (on the outside of the rail, under the fender). You might have to do some scraping to find it. The frame number is the manufacturer's number and will not include the hood number. Usually, but not always, the...
I don't know if I have a complete set of hardware, but I'll root through what I have and let you know.
Okay, I looked. I can come up with a complete set of hardware for the sides (ten uprights with seat brackets). It'll require some work though, they are on racks that have poor wood. I'll...
