Breaks are in new condition no air leaks at the pots its been fine before this happened and was normal when they released. I have a bad shutter stat because the engine and trans got up to 210.Also noticed the air intake trip sensor was half tripped so have to check the air filter as well.
I'm not real sure about the break lights on I had the park lights on and they were lit for sure but i just glimpsed at them so not sure if break of park lights were what I looked at. If I had to guess one way I would say yes the break lights were on.
I stopped for supper applied the parking brake came back after eating got in the truck and released the park brake drove about 3 miles with about 6 stops then the truck started to feel like the brake was on somewhat then after trying the brakes a couple times it locked up the rear wheels and...
Made a plate holder with an LED wired to the trailer plug, built mud flap brackets that bolt in original holes, replaced the ABS module that was blowing a 15A fuse by the steering column and replaced a turbo drain tube that wore when the dip stick rubbed it sometime in its past.
I've been busy lately fixing some minor issues before tearing into my cab upgrade.I installed a Delco alternator that only takes one wire to run and very little bracket mods. Just lengthened the lower bracket and ground a relief in the original bracket and made up a couple bushings from a crank...
I would like to get a bit more response off idle and clean up the light blue smoke at idle and when initially accelerating.
I have installed the pacbrake gov spring kit and turned the top screw out 3 turns and its a pleasure to drive now and doesn't make me nervous pulling into traffic.
Can I...
I have a Question about increasing timing to 22 deg. My engine is set to 16 deg factory. 6 deg seems like a lot. I have increased 5.9's a few deg with success but too much and they start making scary noises. Can you tell me if you have done this with success ?
Spoke with a guy today at a truck salvage yard about buying a couple doors. I guess they are 2500 for a pair! He tried to talk me into changing the whole cab to a Kenworth cab and keep the front nose .Also suggested taking the front axle out and transfer box and put it in a different truck hmmm...
Everything will be water cut and formed and will all be on auto cad except the hand built areas like the floor structure bunk area.Have to finish up a tow truck deck then it starts.
In this post I was actually referring to the bed of the cargo area but I think I want a bed in the cab as well so I don't have to leave her alone when I travel. And lots of room for roof A/C as well.
Yup I understand your point of view now. I never saw the HET as a COE before but now I do. I like the wind-shield configuration with the visor.I don't have a lot of room for a full crew cab so it will be a day cab with maybe a narrow bed and a small bench seat that can fold up so the front seat...
I tell you what a beautiful site to wake up and see this picture. Thanks so much you've given me reassurance that I'm on the right track. That is so cool thanks a bunch zebedee!
The HET is in fact 6 in wider and I'm more into stock fitments so spacers on the wheels are not my thing. The Het wheels may be a bit much for the 8.3 to swing anyway. I'm looking things over and there will be some challenges.I will have to move the fuel tanks some to get my picker outriggers...
Thanks Mike,
I expected more mechanical issues but it was pretty good overall.Everything seemed to work better as I went and new systems came on line (CTIS) The horn also came on when it popped out of the steering wheel. With ear plugs installed it took a few moments of head scratching as to...
