first of all thank you WESTECH AND WARTHOG for advice on a earlier post....now for the ugly;today myself and a buddy changed the fuel pump in my m1009 old one came out easy accept for the lower cross member in the way and the back bolt almost (i said almost) impossible to get at and then the rod...
i replaced the fuel filter the other day checked my check valve on the ip i think the diaphram in the mechanical pump is shot and leaking back down after sitting for a while and thanx warthog i did go to jatonkas site but my comp is a relic and wont let me download large files but hey i always...
thanx westech for the response so just bleed it trough the filter housing after changing the pump?? my comp. is not letting me download the tms for some **** reason
good morning MV'rs i am changing my mechanical fuel pump today and being my first diesel i'm wondering when i replace the failing one is there anything else i need to due?i.e bleed injectors or anything kike that or can i start it up and go?? as always thanks to all who respond
were i live it gets cold in the winter and with a spin on conversion does it need to have a warmer? or can i get by with out one as it is my daily driver and doesn't sit long.
ok the other day i went to drain the filter and the knob broke off in my hands! so pulled the filter and changed instead (was checking for H2O) i was wondering where i could get a spin on filter kit and or what type to use on my M1009??

my 86 OH9 all stock averages 20 - 25 mpg not even joking i was truly amazed by this and i tell my wife all the time "hah your $ 30.000 pacifica gets 16 mpg at best"!

agree with sarge on #6 i picked up my wife from work one day and she was "bleh,blah,bleh" put the oh9 in drive and "what"? also my boy loves driving in it he is all about the army...
ok i have read the wiki and a hundred threads or more on glow plugs many like the wellmans and many like the ac 60g because of their easier availability my question is other than filing the spade oe changing the connectors are their any other mods needed to run the 60gs??thanks to all who can reply

i have zero issues towing my mil trailer although i put a pintle/ball combo vs. the regular pintle.i have not had any tranny problems so far so i don't think you would need an additional cooler.
