I ordered the 1/8" thick MIP floor mat from LMC (part #38-2941), it should be here later this week.
I'll take some pics and let you know what I think.
My +30 yr old OEM mat is completely toast, separated/tears in it in several places, but jute backing seems in decent shape.
Thanks......found some good useful info via pirate4X4.com which indicates pinion nut size is 1.5" for my GM 10.5 " 14 bolt in my M1028.
My question is how in the heck do you get the pinion nut off, and then back on......up to 300+ ft/lbs torque is crazy tight......not sure I could budge that on...
My M1028 stock rear must be 1 1/2" pinion yoke nut, 1 1/4" socket not even close to covering that big nut! Had a 36MM socket handy and it was just a bit small.
I'm doing the same thing......had my driveshaft re-tubed, balanced, and both u joints replaced (Spicer part # U5-799, 1350 series) today......new u joint straps/bolts and pinion yoke ordered and due to arrive shortly.
It was amazing once I had the driveshaft out of the truck and in clear light...
For those that have replaced the bench seat bottom cover......I'm trying to get the seat belt cut outs/trim pieces to sit flat in the foam padding, which I'm also replacing.
My question is: should the snap trim piece on the back of the seat cover (see black piece in the pic, white piece was...
Totally possible......this '84 M1028 came from Ft Hood, Tx via Iron Planet, to an individual, and then to me via eBay......I test drove it at point of purchase, and knew it had a bad drive-line vibration of some sort at that point, and then drove it home ~ 50 miles, and have been addressing the...
Yes, caps are sliding in the straps.....I've not yet checked torque on strap bolts......they look fine.....but totally agree that replacing the yoke probably best left to skilled professional, which I am not!
Yes, my u-joint at the rear diff will slide in the yoke......have a horrible vibration at 35-40 mph on the road.......so working my way from the front of the drivetrain to the rear.....presume best to replace rear yoke along with both rear u-joints? Or just replace u-joints and test fit whether...
Replaced harmonic balancer, motor mounts, and belts.....Gates 7448 feels loose for power steering, but driver side alternator seems fine.....still need to adjust power steering pump out a bit?
