You might also want to check the fuses under the inst panel. The amps labeled are correct but some of the other labeling isn't. (IGN for instance is used for the passenger side alternater.
I have been converting two 6.2's for use in my boat and have looked into the flywheel/drive coupling situation pretty thorouly. The Flywheel from a 350 chev with the two-piece rear main seal will bolt onto the 6.2 engine and can use a gas engine starter, a handy feature if you are looking for a...
This sounds like you got a 24 volt starter for a gas engine. The starter and flywheel for the 350 cubic inch chevrolet engine will bolt up to the 6.2 diesel. It will even start and run, although it would be horribly out of balance.
I think you may need to replace the fusible links rather than change them to fuse holders. The links are able to withstand an over current condition much longer than a fuse. Checking the resistance of the glow plugs might be worthwhile as something must have shorted to burn a link. Is it...
If your voltmeter doesn't show a voltage drop when the relay clicks, the glow plugs are probably bad. The controller cycles the plugs after the engine starts as well as before and the engine should be idled until the post-glow period is over to avoid over heating the glow plugs. The newer dual...
