    1955 M series 5 ton fuel gauge

    Can anyone help me with this one. My fuel gauge always reads full no matter if there is only 1/2 or evn 1/4 of fuel in the tank. Just figured someone has been down this road before. The help would be appreciated.

    Yes I have read somewhere that this infact uses a piston and a smooth honed cylinder surface. Hope this never wears out . You are right a good run cleans it right out. Read in that manual you mentioned and thats the right engine temp, 180. Thanks for the help.

    Thanks bjorn. I must have gotten my resources mixed up. I thought ldt was 175 hp & lds was 205 hp. The good thing is the crankcase oil does not appear to have any excessive diesel fuel smell or presence. Also were would one obtain the diaphram or seal for the FDC. aLso while were on the topic...

    Bio alternatives It is certainly not an issue of lubricity as I am sure you know. It is more of a consistency issue. This stuff really congeals in lower climates. can tell you that if you have heating equipment that runs on #2 home heating oil this Bio stuff is a god sent product.
