Installing larger tires doesn't affect the actual gearing any where. But since smaller tires have to spin more times to travel the same linear distance they have a lower- Higher numerical value gear ratio.
ndccs are probably different but theses are close enough.

Before you go any further have you thoroughly inspected the fuel lines? Diesel engines hate air in their fuel so make sure there aren't any slow leaks where fuel and air are exchanging. I just changed a fuel line on a JD tractor between the final filter and the injector pump had a little leak...
i had a new idea a couple of days ago and hadn't posted it due to the forum being inaccessible. As with most of my ideas it requires some fab work but not as bad as my first-I think. You could just have all 3 axles be air axle and have the linked together so the pressure change when one bag...
Well here's a tag axle chop for M1075. Tandems are approximately in the same place. I just noticed that the drawing i did of the walking beam suspension has 4 axles hehe...
The only way you could link 3 axles together that i know of is to redo the suspension to a walking beam. It would be require a bunch of fabrication but would improve a lot of the aspects of truck plus look at the quick chop i did.
Well since we kinda hijacked another thread to start this disscusion i thought it would be good to start a new tread. Maybe somebody can get a new idea in here.
M1075
Also, I've been thinking of adding another rear axle to the M36. Another tandem might be the easiest to setup, but I wonder if...
You would want some stops on the axle because you only want the axle to turn about 15 degrees either way or the tire will wear badly. The spring steering is a much better idea than the hydraulic steering. If you want to use the 3rd axle all the time you could link it to the walking beam...
You could move the axle set on the M36 foward to where a M35 would mount and then add another axle behind them that is steering. You would only want 15 degrees of turn either way. You would need to get a hydraulic steering pump and could either integrate the the rear steer or have a seperate...
You can't see them b/c this was all posted before the forum meltdown and rebulid. While most of the old stuff was recovered, the attachments and pictures were unrecoverable. In short you don't see them and neither does anyone else b/c they aren't there anymore.
I don't know what i was doing wrong but the last part of the instructions, Locate and click "Refresh Your PostNuke Profile", never worked. I had to go to change PostNuke Profle and go to the gallery find my uploaded avatar and then hit submit. If i hit refresh i would reset my signature to babel...
Does any one have any experience using a Unimog as a tractor? You know, pto's, 3pts and all? I have seen a lot of sites about using unimogs in their intended occupation, but i keep wondering how hard it is to use pull type equipment. I'm wondering about most is the rear view, since you can't...
I know you guys are still working out stuff, and i don't want to be a bother, but are we going to be able to upload avatars like on the old forum? If not that's ok.
If the siping doesn't work out good enough for you, you could try the Michelin XDHT, its more of an on road tire than an off road but still has an aggresive tread. They only problem is you need 22.5 rims but the M105A3's have 22.5 rims it isn't a huge problem as long as you can find some. If the...
Bjorn, I have to say that even though that truck is a combination of different trucks, it seems like the miltary should have bulit it that way. [thumbzup]
M756A3 High Moblity Utillity Lift Truck; or we could just call it the Cranetruck.
If you are going to be using the trailer much i would go with the gooseneck. They distrubute the weight over your axle so you don't sag so much. [thumbzup] Also i have problems with bumperpulls lifting the tow rig into the air while unloading. I have seen the dmax with the bottom of the tire...
