Tony,
I'm glad to learn that the info I supplied was benificial to you. The nice thing about Baxter is that he's located about an hour from my place, so it's easy for me to avoid the haz-mat shipping fees by taking a little drive to his place in Bristol, PA.
Don't feel bad about the lack of...
Not all GL5 EP gear lubes are harmful. Lessons were learned in the early days of EP being used in older equipment with "yellow" metal in gear boxes. Changes were made and a lot of EP lubes on the market today are formulated so no harm is done to these metals. There's a marking on the containers...
I have Shell GL1, 5-gallon pails, in stock. Can deliver to Aberdeen East Coast Rally, for those that don't need it right away. E-mail me to place an order.
Thanks,
Your post is a little confusing. You are working on a M35 Series truck, correct? If so, you mention "the battery". There should be two batteries in series for at least 24-volts. Yes, the alternators die. Rebuildable, but expensive. The battery dash guage does not do anything with the switch in...
Easy one. Lets designate the switch posts as follows: A. Center B. High C. Low Speed. Hot from circuit breaker to center post A. Mount the ceramic resister in an open area, like on the firewall in engine compartment. Run one wire to B and the other to C. Attach the heater motor's wire to B...
Gillespi has a close #383. The green in the 3-color pattern is #383. Krylon has Ultra Flat Black that works good in the 3-color. If your paint is faded, you won't get an exact match, but it'll work.
The Desert Tan and 3-color are almost certainly CARC. Use a very good respirator if you sand it. You can use Gillespie Coatings CARC color enamel for repainting, available in spray cans.
I've had several trucks come in from DRMO and GL that had 5/8" - 3/4" plywood on the bows. I have a 3/4" sheet on my M105A2 trailer. Use exterior sheathing plywood, it's a whole lot cheaper than "good one side." Lay a coat of exterior paint on to help extend its life.
The air line is T'd into the system, see pic.
The air line is 3/8" o.d. copper. I was wrong in saying 5/16", I was going by poor memory. Be sure to clamp the line down to minimize vibrations that will cause a leak.

Grover horns can be used with on-board air, but I couldn't find the cfm and pressure required. They are available with their own compressor. Turn your puter speakers on and go to:
www.tirechanger.com/grover/tra.../trainhorn.html
There are several pages of horns, I see thay have a set that I...
That little horn was used on a lot of MV's, including the M37. Just a little "beep-beeper." If you need me to, tomorrow I'll look under the hood of my M35A2 and let you know exactly how the air line connects. If you use commercial compression fittings, the common ones, the nuts are too short and...
I doubt that you have to sweat "stolen." What you can do is go to one of the vehicle history sites and pay about $20.00 to get the history of your vehicle. I use: http://auto.consumerguide.com/vhr/index.cfm/act/start
You can enter a VIN to find out if they have records. If they do and you want...
I haven't had any problem with my VIN's on my M1009 or M1008. My insurance company did question me about the year of the M1009. It is titled 1985, but the VIN and data plate indicate it's a 1984. They just asked me to verify what was right, so I gave them the year on the data plate and they are...

I usually don't have to log on, but this evening was different. When I tried, my User Name and PW were rejected and the only way I could sign on was to reregister and use a different E-mail address.
