With the accessory switch turned on, open the bleeder on top of the secondary and final filters to see if you're getting a good fuel supply. You won't be able to hear the pump over the low air buzzer, so either unplug it or hold your ear against the fuel tank. Pumping the throttle on a diesel...
Lance,
I found some more tubes and flaps. Let me know when you need some again. I'm thinking maybe you're getting some tire experience? :)
Your truck is looking good! How come there's no deuce tracks on the hill?
Oh, and thanks putting my link on your site.
I've never performed the LDS/LDT swap, but I do know that you'll have to rotate the oil pan end-for-end and relocate the oil sump. I think that I read something about moving the dip stick, too. If you do the swap, you'll really appreciate the extra power. I have driven M35A2's with the 5-ton LDS...
True, LD, but if the tube is old and stretched it'll have a tendency to create folds when reinstalled. These folds will chafe and cause new leaks.
I encountered many flats that were caused by a crack in the flap, usually in the area of the hole for the tube stem.
Before demounting, check the...
>Where is a good cheap place to find tire tubes and what do they go normally go for. >The tire itself is fine from what I can see.
I usually purchase and sell 9:00x20" tubes for about $20.00 - 25.00, flaps for under $20.00. If interested, I'll call for a current quote. Allow bucks for UPS.
Here's a site that I created in order to help installers. The main thing is the mounting plate specifications. There are other types, but this one always worked good for me and it's easy to fabricate out of 1/8" sheet http://hometown.aol.com/joeyounginc/page1.html
I've used some that are simply...
I've never seen unpainted or stained ones on original trucks and I've looked at hundreds of them. It's not good to expose unsealed wood to the elements, fresh water rots wood.
NOS bows $15.00 each plus UPS from 08302. Some are dropside bows, but the lugs do not interfere. Seems that no two arcs are exactly the same, but I do match them as close as I can. I only have a small quantity of these.
UPS is not cheap on over length, unboxed items., so keep this in mind if you...
I did not reference the chart, so some of this might be a repeat:
Fuel (2) on side of engine: Fram C1175PL or NAPA Gold 3512
Primary filter on frame, under alternator: NAPA 3511 works and the
gasket fits. The center hole is large, but they still work. I’ve seen the large hole in NOS surplus...
Strict laws in NJ governing this. $1000.00 fine if done wrong. Sure hurt the farmers that carried their help to the fields. We seem to get away with passengers in the truck bed when we're in a parade.
Easiest way I've found, especially working alone, is to loosen the adjuster, leave the belts resting in the pulley and take the alternator and mounting bracket off together. I remove the aft bolt last so I am working over the fender and can grasp the alternator. When reinstalling, the belts will...
mcinfantry,
When I'm parading and use low range and low gear, I rarely have to touch any pedals, except when the parade halts. Makes the turbo whistle good and kiddies cover their ears when I do get to nail it.
