    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

oil is coming from upstream,, Turbo is brand new and the amount of leakage that is seeping through the manifold tells me its washing the turbo. I really hate cobbling things together outside in the snow with the imaginary justification of coming back to fix them right come spring.... we all know...

    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

:ditto: only problem would be tearing down the wrecker long enough to put the 3406 in,,,,, unless I could figure out a way to power the crane assembly while the engine was out,,,,,, then the wrecker could do its own engine swap...........

    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

with this tach problem,, and the general lack of power I am at a loss to figure out where to go from here,,,, I can try and have the pump rebuilt,,, but the old school pump guys are likely sitting in the geriatric ward downtown now.... Found a chunk of metal after oil change on my M923A1

Yes you can do an inframe on an 855 depending on what exactly is needed... Ive swapped out the mains and rods (bearings) on a few worn out small blocks inframe, by using some banding strap to gently tap the upper bearing around the crank to snake it out.. Or,,, drop the crank via straps...

Add a turbo or get the 6cta 8.3l

My 4LHR Schwitzer was a 5", I just used a standard flange from NAPA truck with the coordinating band, this gave me about 6" to weld my 90* onto to start the downward migration to my old 4" pipe. 2) 90*s a Flange, and a short coupler with a reducer had me where I needed to be. Then welded it...
