Is this starter gear and/or fly wheel toast?
you wanna check the starter solenoid. the bendix in the starter might not be fully engaging the flywheel when starting the engine. you might have to bench test your starter to make sure. -
Need some help with Parking Brake issue
littlebob, the spring is called a "mustache" spring, its obvious why. it helps each shoe stay aligned with each other when applied. -

run the engine hard and stop idling. make sure the breather tube isn't clogged up, also. -

M35A2 low oil pressure.....
your engine will knock and run rough if the main/ rod bearings were bad. oil press will go down as well. it will happen simultaneously. -
