They only check it because they see the air gauge or the glad hands. You don't need the buzzer or the gauge. UNLESS of course you have a trailer attached that is full air or air over hydraulic. Then you have to have both.

That seems odd... It sounds more like an "outside the steering box" problem than an "inside the steering box" problem.
Does it not steer left as in it hits a dead lock and won't go any further", or does it not steer left as in "it does steer left but it is much much harder to steer left than...
Look for the screw type chain latches at all four corners of the dropside bed, as opposed to the wire hook on the standard bed.
Look for hinges at the bottom of the sides of the drop side, none on the standard bed.

I hammered out a gasket for that one. Those rolls of gasket material are pretty handy for lots of little gaskets that are difficult to find late Sunday evening when you're trying to wrap something up...

If so, that would tell me it is a tire or wheel end (rim, bearing, hub) type issue, and there's probably more than one involved. tire balance, tire out of roundness, mismatched air...
Yes, the socket is readily available, if you ask in the right places. Napa has them (Or can get them in a day or two depending on the store), Tool dealers (tool trucks) have them, any parts store catering to medium/heavy trucks has them. It's getting "older", but it's still a common size.
Agreed about the bleeding. If you're careful you might well only have to bleed "downstream" from where you open the system, but you will not open the system without introducing air.
I have to agree with the last couple of posts. I have ordered a couple of times, and will order again I'm quite sure. I have never been let down, except for delays. Absolutely not any failures to deliver, just delays. Your stuff will probably come quickly, but that's not guaranteed...

That is exactly what "over" means when it's used in this or similar context... "Over" means "activated" or "controlled".
I have not seen electric over hydraulic first hand as of yet, but I am looking forward to it... I think it'll be a step forward in the landscaping to light equipment...
I've never done it so I can't say for sure how the snap on wrench works, but there is a BIG DIFFERENCE that I don't see mentioned yet-
With the military wrench, you set your torque wrench on it and go.
With the Snap On wrench, you will have to get your slide rule out and recalculate the torque...

Mine seems that way too... It's not a sudden change however. It almost "sounds" happier too, when you're cruising with the engine at or near redline... Not like you turned it up or anything, but more like the engine finally warms up to operating temperature or something...

I believe that the use of the term "air over hydraulic" is not used correctly in the case of this particular reference manual. It's not uncommon to find both air over and air assist mislabeled in reference materials.

Are you kidding? They're selling half ton pickups now that are factory rated for 14,000. One tons with a fifth wheel are well into class A if you're getting paid to drive them....

No, not at all. They're kind of (IMHO) redundant and obsolete, but they are quite legal. We used to have several trucks at work that were so equipped. Somebody somewhere may have (and should if they have not , again IMHO) stopped them from new production, but there's bunches of them out there...
You can find this described many places, and you will find many places (including technical references both old and new) where the term "air over hydraulic" is used incorrectly.
