First, I believe that the steering gear uses an open center valve. I think that this means the winch would have to be in line, not in parallel, and an open center/power beyond valve would have to be used. Pressure line from the pump to the winch valve, pressure line from the winch valve to the...
I do not have air assist, I have a question though. I have seen this "regulator" referred to before, I am wondering... Is this actually a "regulator", or is it simply a valve to stop the air supply when the supply pressure drops below a preset amount, so a steering failure won't affect the...
Ok, to close this thread I have some results-
First, the non-dried paint IS over pre-existing green, the bare metal sections are the part that would not wipe away with acetone... (In my mind,) The compatibility issue is confirmed.
Second, I have one single test number plate that I sanded to...
How big is the hole in the steering column? I don't know if this will get your horn wire retrieved or not, but when I 'loose" something that is in sight, yet out of reach, a handy tool is a piece of brake line, with a doubled up section of picture hanger wire stuffed through it. An electrical...
Mine looks exactly like that, but the compressor base is NOT leaking. It's wicking around the seam, but it's coming from the weep hole in the older design head gasket, which according to Connie is pretty much normal and acceptable in reasonable quantities.
Not to say that this IS your...
If you look at several brands of proper radiator tester, you'll find many have color coded "charts" on the gauge. Depending on the brand, you'll find anywhere from one to two pounds over the cap, all the way to 40 percent over the cap. This is why I say that an accurate starting mark is the...
OK the, there's no reversing the ground and power... It's grounded since it's lit. It's lit all the time, but the buzzer works correctly. The next thing I would think of is somehow there's a trace of continuity through the air pressure switch when it should be open. If that were the case, a...
A couple of you guys are scaring me a bit...
The block does not care who is moving, what is fixed, or why you hooked it up in the first place. The reaction force on the hook of the snatch block will be the vector sum of the two forces applied, which is the line going in, and the line going...
I usually add twenty five percent or so, but it's better to get the needle to an exact spot on the gauge than to get an exact pressure to test at. (The water pump makes enough pressure in the engine anyhow, that you wouldn't want to apply that much to the radiator, so you aren't shooting for a...
I agree... Not being sure exactly what the kit consists of, or how it's wired in, all I can say is that for an electrical device to operate it requires a complete circuit, power and ground. Something is giving it both, when it should not be.
The air buzzer worked correctly (and stopped...
I would have said that properly dried (cured) paint was inert..... It can really do this?
The numbers were sanded down enough to find anywhere from two to six old numbers underneath the ones that were on it. When metal started showing I stopped sanding... Perhaps leading to the specific areas...
That snatch block will safely turn back the cable (double the line pull) on an electric "off road" winch that is rated at 8000 pounds by the "rolling loads" method. If you have installed such a winch, it'll work fine. If you have the deuce winch on your deuce, I would continue shopping...
I'm semi-confident that it wasn't on too thick, three coats, five minutes apart (roughly) from different angles, the "before" color did not dissapear completely until the third coat. Primer and color were applied this way. I've surely gotten spray paint too thick before, and the runs and drips...
This was done as a thread, it's in the member recognition section.

It has not been updated lately. That thread (for me anyhow...) seemed like it was a good way to keep track of when it's time to donate again. Checking that thread, I can see I let it slip a bit... I'll fix that. It...
So, first off I'm working slowly on making a yellow bridge plate from a subdued one. I painted it with Plasti-Kote School Bus Yellow, on top of the matching and recommended plasti-kote primer. That was four weeks ago today...
Today I got back to it. I can touch the pieces just fine. If I...
I don't know if it's smaller than you're looking for, but I'd have bought them if you were selling them. Anybody who's ever stacked firewood in a dropside deuce would appreciate these.
Taken straight from the archives of this very forum..... I couldn't buy or build one that works better. Put it way to the right, or fourth gear gets messy with a tall mug such as my favorite one here...
The answer to your license requirement depends on what the limits are on the license that you are issued. A Vermont license allows me to drive any vehicle up to 26000 pounds, any number of wheels, any number of axles, including in that weight one semi-trailer or full trailer. No placardable...
How are the brakes boosted on those? Or are they boosted?. My first thought is a master cylinder push rod adjustment or a sticky brake pedal not quite releasing all the way.
