    Fuel strainer

It's a rock catcher, not a contaminated fuel fixer. It should not be considered any part of your filtration system. If you want scientific, I'll take my strainer and throw it as far as I can, and for all future measurement we can assign that distance to be fifty yards.:-D But by my best...

has anyone bult a deuce hemtt yet?

Any time I've seen that linkage, the drag link from the front to the rear has been on the same side as the steering gear. I think to limit the number of "links" in the chain between the steering gear and that last tire to recieve "input". Just for consideration, (I am not claiming to have...

    m105 dump bed trailer

Be very careful with that. It's probably doable, however air compresses A LOT. The bed is "heaviest" when it's down, as it raises the work gets lighter, then as the load shifts to the rear it'll reach a point where the air can uncompress a bit, which lightens it more, which uncomoresses the...

    Master cyl, dual vs. single

I don't believe the -A3 master cylinder will accommodate the -A2 transmission mounted PTO shifter. It only affects trucks with that PTO, and prolly not a deal breaker if you're fabricating anyhow, but worth noting.

I think its the Force Washer

You can avoid the pullers if you wish to. Remove both axle shafts, and use a piece of black pipe to drive the seal holders out from the opposite side. I don't see a jack stand either, but it looks like one of my "shortcuts" that I picked up from a couple of local truck garages. (They say that...

Do I really want a heater?

I put a heater in mine, under the dash. It's great to pre-warm the windshield when there's condensation in the morning. I live by a big lake in a valley so there's fog virtually every morning. Wet glass, wind from driving, the glass cools and gets more condensation... It is VERY nice to be...

Air leak, need info on plastic/nylon lines and fittings

Air is secondary to deuce brakes, not primary to it. There is a failsafe and the brakes function without air. This does not require DOT approved unless you're pulling a full air brake air brake trailer. Just like horns, air seats, PTO switches and such, where after the protection valve...

    Exhaust elbow

No, not the flex pipe, the solid 45ish degree elbow between the flex pipe and the turbo outlet.

    Exhaust elbow

The part that doesn't have a hole in it is so thin that I can stick a ball point pen through it, one spot on top, another on the bottom, and all the way around the outside of the bend. I'm cheap, and I can weld, but I'm not that good..... There's just nothing to save here.

Air leak, need info on plastic/nylon lines and fittings

I don't think I could envision myself removing good copper for nylon... Possibly replacement with nylon simply for the ease of installation, but I can't think of another good reason. That'd be my choice if I were to do so. I think you're going to want half inch for the glad hand plumbing...

So you want to go faster?

Yes, one of the gun truck replicas has one installed, with pics. You might try searching that particular forum. No shifter, it's just set in overdrive and left there. That means that obviously they were building a highway only truck, which is good because the driveshaft to the forward rear...

    Exhaust elbow

It seems that the mice have chewed a hole in my exhaust pipe... Or something like that. I need the 45 degree elbow from the turbo outlet. I don't see one online, but I'm sure the big vendors have got them. Before I start calling on Tuesday, does anybody have a good condition one they'd...

    Draining water from fuel tank?

There are algae and bacteria that can grow in the fuel tank. The algae is not so bad, but the bacteria can infect a cut and require immediate medical attention..... Not good, they are nasty as blood stream infections go... All little fuel tank critters live at the boundary between water and...

    Tach works Hour gauge doesn't

The hours on the tach are nit "hours", they are a mechanically driven method to count the cable revolutions for maintenance purposes, just lie an odometer. They don't keep correct time for hourly fuel usage unless you want to set the hand throttle to the exact RPM that keeps good time, and...

Engine Oil Level High - Fuel Dilution ? HELP!

I don't know first hand, but aimlessly reading through these forums I have seen injection pumps without compensators mentioned and photographed on this site before. I don't think I ever learned how or why they were installed, if it was an "elimination kit" or just no longer needed since the...

    Draining water from fuel tank?

Many fuel tank drains don't have a sump, this one included, which makes a drain pretty ineffective. Among my makeshift tools I keep at work is a cheap inline electric fuel pump (exteral, not tank mounted) with a filter and hose attached that I run from a booster pack. I actually have two, one...

    Thought on U-joints and Tandems

To apply torque to the joint, it needs opposing forces. The transmission turns the shaft, and the pinion resists being turned. The rear (inter-axle) driveshaft is designed to support the maximum forseeable forces from one axle. The main driveshaft (transfer case to first rear axle) has to be...

    Winch Shear Pins

It would look to me like "cheating" with the 9/32 inch brass would get about 83 or 84 percent of the original strength of a winch that is built for three times more than 90 percent of any of us would ever use it for... Nice... I'll bet they've got piles of that down at the hardware store...

    deuce is overcharging. voltage regulator?

Before you go adjusting stuff, Cranetruck is right, a regulator regulates it's own voltage. It does not change the regulated voltage based on the system demand. Suspect poor high resistance connections somewhere. Probably solid ones, where they're good and tight, otherwise this would be...
