I am actually single and doing this trip by my self. I am actuall originally from NJ so I know the east cost quite well. The good thing is I believe VA should be a lot better than NJ in many respects (not that I think NJ is bad it's just its politics that annoy me specifically continuing to...
No I did not, Probably should have atleast stopped in there considering they had signs like every 100 ft for 100 miles leading up to the place. I wanted to get to a certian point by the end of the day so tomorrow after the mall of america I'd run down the mississippi in daylight so I can take...
First some answers
Its the Civilian Marksmanship Program, I collect old military rifles and currently have a M1903A3 with no barrel or stock that i'd like to restore (must resist urge to buy rifles while there). I do appreciate the offer but I don't think ill be closer than 140 miles from...

Well the day has finally come where I start my drive from Montana to Virginia. If I were to drive directly there total trip would have been 2300 miles about. Instead I am planning on doing some sight seeing so the trip will be mor like 3100 miles. I figure Some people may be interested in...
My personal why to deal with the truck noise in four easy steps
1. Install Radio
2. Turn it up till you can't here the truck
3. Truck noise gone.
4. Look cool:driver:
As long as you trust your truck to make it I say go for it. I plan on doing my PCS from MT to VA in my M1009 towing my car. Lucky for me my car is a 72 mini so it only about 1200 lbs so I figure my truck will be able to pull it with little problem.
As far as how your truck will handle the...
I am curious if there is an easy test to see what wattage a block heater is. When I got my 1009 it already had one in it. It does a good job of keeping the engine warm for example this morning it was -14 out and when I went to start it the glow only came on for about 3 seconds than the truck...
I do not have the schematics, so I can't help you there. The best I can do you for is giving you this website.
http://www.cucvelectric.com/index.html
They sell brand new manufactured Glow Plug Controller cards. Also from what I understand is the person that owns that site is a member of...
For the most I followed the TM instructions though not completely. There were a few minor things I did not do because they were unnecessary for what I was doing. The TM instructs you on the removal of the transmission where to change out the flex plate all you need to do is move the transmission...
Well I got my flex plate and starter replaced. The old Flex plate had a couple places of really bad chewed up teeth. First picture is on such spot. I had been unable to find any place that had a flywheel wrench in stock so turning the flex plate was very difficult. For removal of the old one I...
Well this weekend is going to be fun. I need to replace the starter and the flex plate I believe it’s called (though the TM seams to refer to it as a Fly wheel.) About a month ago it developed a problem where when I turned the key occasionally the starter would just spin and make a grinding...
Thank you combatmech for the link to the different laws for Virginia
I figured nobody would be to interested in seeing the little minor projects I knocked out over the weekend, but if you want to see pictures i gladly oblige so I attached a couple. As for your first question yes I did get a...
Well I am moving to Virginia in a couple of months so I have been preparing my M1009 for the 2300 mile trip across country. (Not sure if I am going to drive it or tow it yet, but figure its best to have it prepared to be driven because even if I don't drive it, I am sure it is probably over due...
The rear seat belts should be the same as on the civy one right? I was cleaning out my truck yesterday and discovered the center buckle and belt had been completely removed. I had always just though it had gotten pushed between the seats, but I guess not. I probably should have known that years...
Thats one of those things I never thought any one would not know about. Of course my first car used the same type of headlight switch so when I got my truck I knew exactly what it did. Of course i think I knew it turned on my first car is because either the first time I went to turn on my...
I am not given an opinion on what actions the OP should take but would just like to point out that according to the one website he was arrested in November 30th this thread was started the November 21st and from the sounds of it the guy had already been ducking out of his payments for at least a...
I was wondering if anyone had tried to make one before. They looked pretty simple to make and I figured I'll eventually try to make one myself. The knowledge from two years of electricity and electronics has gotten a little rusty from not being used, figured it would be a good project to knock...
