I am looking at this M54A2C that is for sale. There are a few things I would like to probe your expert minds on if I may?
The first is he said there is a re-build plate that says TEAD 12-88. Has anyone got any information on what this means???
Secondly, he told me the winch looks in A1...
Or, if climate change gives you the weather we have over here, you could call yourself, "Cold, Wet, Blowing a Gale Deuce".
I think I need to change mine to, "Let me bend over so Tony Blair can s**g me up the a**e for even more fuel duty deuce".
Can you get nicked for running that fuel in Holland. If we get caught in the UK, we are in serious trouble. The smell gives it away. Where do you get your Kero from? Does she run OK with the used engine oil? Does she smoke and smell? :)
Thanks ST.
I haven't had an email off the guy yet. I might send him another email asking if he wants to sell or not?
I think I'm going to set up a bio diesel operation. I need to speak with Cranetruck about this, because I think he does his own home brew.
No worries. That's what the hobby is about. I love the hobby, and the people in it. You need to come over to the UK when Beltring is on. It really would be an eye opener for you. 4,000 military vehicles in one place. It's outstanding.
Thanks guys for the replies.
Man, I didn't realise that the 5 ton was almost double the weight. Can I take it all this extra weight is the chassis? That must be one mean chassis. I bet they never rust, as they are too thick.
I can't make my mind up guys. 5MPG is BAD........... REAL...
That's why the girlfriend and I are looking at moving to the States Ryan. This government makes me sick. They have sold off everything British, to foreign companies. The company I work for BOC, has just been sold to a German company. There is nothing left. Alvis were at the forefront of armoured...
The length of time I've had this on here, and I didn't notice I spelt it wrong. Must of hit the T in my limited typing abilities. All corrected now. I will also be at Beltring this year. Shopping for an M35, if I haven't bought one by then.
This truck has come up for sale in the UK today. I have emailed the guy who owns it. Do you guys think that this sounds a good deal. I do have a few questions though.
What is the NSN number for this truck with a winch? If the truck NSN says for example that it is an M54-A2 w/out winch, but this...
Yeah. As you know, we have a lot of USAF bases in the UK. They seem to have lots of cab over trucks here. Unlike the British Army (BATUS) Canada, where we use local vehicles, the USAF seems to import all their vehicles for use over here. Even down to the service personnel, who seem to import...
Well spotted.
The front two vehicles are both from Mitsubishi. They are (on the left) the Pajero SWB 4x4 and (on the right) the L200 4x4 pick up. The vehicles at the back are the Bedford MJ (on the right) and the TACTICA APC. I have tried to do more research on this APC, but I can't find who...
LOL......... Yeah, it probably sounds weird to you guys. But all the trucks I drive are flat nosed. The roads are small compaired to yours in the States.
That was the first tractor unit I drove with a big bonnet. But I eventually got used to it. It prepared me for my REO. (When I get it)
Here is a picture of a Volvo NL10 tractor unit. This is one of the trucks I used to drive when I was with the United Nations. It was a good truck, but you can't see for yards in front with the big bonnet in the way.
The truck next to it is a Bedford MJ 4 tonner. This is the standard 4 ton truck...
I did wonder how it was mounted. The way the bottom of the unit drops where the back wheels should be. Interesting. I wonder who fitted it like that? If I see it again I will speak with the owner.
This is a picture I took when I was in the Army, detatched to the United Nations. I went for trips in this Huey on numerous occasions and the Pilot never dissapointed as he was always willing to show what it could do. I always got the side seat, so I could be as near to the outside as I could...
Here is a picture of a White Water Purification Unit I took a few years ago. Can anyone tell me if these trucks were actually used in this role? I have never seen them in any service photo's?
Cheers
Andy
