its a common, old school alternator. you should be able to go to any electrical repair shop that rebuild alternators and starters. they should be able to rebuild it for you. its cheaper than buying a new one, i imagine.

apologize for the mix up. my avatar is the replacement for the m911 (aka super het). the pics you had of the 915 pulling the conex's is the replacement for the m915a1. great info!!
its always hard work. be careful when you air the tires, need to put the tires in a cage, just in case the split ring wants to fly off. i've seen it fly off and kill somebody. its well worth it in the end.
the multi of today is a good engine. the problem is lack of maintenance. this why they out with cummins. more durable, powerful and torquee. it was really for a medium duty application use. i'll take multi anyday!!
we havd R&R an deuce engine, brandnew, started it up for the first time and it ran backwards. it was really crazy! stopped the engine and started it again, ran fine. it had to start from the starter. we pulled it off and benched tested it, it worked backwards. put another starter on, everything...
you will see exhaust soot around any holes or clamps six. check you clamp at your turbo, its possibe that the flange at your turbo broke. i'm from baltimore, also. you know where reisterstown plaza is? i lived off of patterson ave. a place called lochearn.
