Hey guys, sorry for the couple questions today, but I have just one more thing I needed to ask. I just got done doing some brake line work so I got around to bleeding the brakes today. I noticed that the fluid coming out was yellowish brownish in nature and after bleeding and pumping the brakes...
Thanks for the input, that's what I did, however I do want to note that it has been gauged a good 1/2 inch in there. I'm just hoping this wasn't an incredibly critical part
Hey y'all I done goofed bad and accidently did some gauging with my seal puller on the output of the np208 transfer case on my 1009. Any advice or thoughts on how bad this is??
Hey y'all, just wanted to get some opinions on something. I have an M1009, and I'm trying to call around and see how much it'll cost to get my transmission resealed. After spending what felt like countless hours trying to diagnose where my leaks come from I've somewhat hat to give up the goat so...
Hey Recovry4x4 thanks for the input, I will keep this in mind and try not to shim it unless things get terrible. I am a little doubtful that I will have to myself, however with the shimming issues I had in the past with the rear, I am going into the front cautiously and prepared to possibly deal...
It messed up my rear so bad that I had to get another driveshaft haha (I made a thread a long time ago about that, but I'm shackle flipping and doing a double cardan driveshaft so there wont be vibration) only thing is that 4 inches is certainly enough to change the driveshaft angle a bit...
Hey all, I'm just finishing up putting on 4" lift springs in the front of my M1009 K5... My biggest question is do I need to correct my pinion angle? (The spring is symmetrical and doesn't have any shims on it, just as you'd find on any K5 lift kit for the front springs). I know the idea behind...
Just wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on where to get a new tailgate for my M1009 K5 Blazer (1985). There are some stress fractures and holes on the gate (is the only part of the truck with any rust at all) and I am in the market to replace it. Only problem is that I noticed on LMC...
Just to be sure, is there any other "lines" that oil can pour out of other than the 2 bigger cooler lines that go under the bell housing to the driver's side? I know there was a vacuum line but we deduced no fluid goes through there. Anything else? Again, it's above the starter area. Just wanna...
I see the diagram, and it really looked like it was coming from hat region! It was above the starter and that line is definitely soaked, so I dont think that the thicker cooler lines go around that area... I guess it's still theoretically possible for it to be dipstick stuff but I'm very...
I believe my dipstick tube is a large black steel line but that seemed dry... I didn't think of that actually... Is that line replaceable with just a brake line? Where does it lead to? I can't seem to find where it goes! (Didn't know fluid ran through that line actually!)
I see all your points and I'm gonna seek out those options as big possibilities... I saw at autozone for like $35 they sell reinforced rubber lines that lead to a trans cooler radiator assembly that you mount in front of your coolant radiator... And you bypass/ignore a coolant radiator...
Called up Hill Billy Wizard earlier, he said he doesn't have any and that they are a tough find sometimes. I am thinking about installing an after market transmission cooler (Rubber lines, but has a cooler you mount in front of the radiator) if I have to. They are pretty cheap. About $35. Now as...
I actually did look into Hillbilly Wizard but couldn't find anything! Yeah I was afraid of rubber being an insulator... I guess I could try to make those lines myself, I'd imagine it can't be too hard... Although I'd prefer buying it if there was such a thing!
I see, I couldn't find anything like that online as far as parts go, and I tried making a couple calls and I managed to stump those who I spoke to from various auto parts stores. Do I replace them with rubber lines? I saw that you can just buy the fitting and do rubber all the way? I feel like...
Also, those lines look like they are mostly steel lines, but a lot of the part numbers that come up show lines that are like 85% rubber... Can anyone confirm any part numbers that will work with the CUCV setup? Seems like on the internet I've found some variance in answers on this!
I am starting to suspect that as well at this point. Especially since it didn't flow like that until a little while after the engine was running... Maybe to build pressure? Anyways, this whole time I thought that the cooler lines actually ran under the bell housing to the driver's side! I guess...
I actually was thinking that, but the think is that I think the cooler lines go towards the driver side? I might be wrong! But the fittings where the lines mate to the tranny are dry as a bone, so it definitely didnt travel down there! Its leaking right above the starter, and pouring onto the...
Alright yall, I know it's been a while but I took some brake clean to the tranny, and that didn't last long. Here is what happened today. I started the truck for not more than 45 seconds in park just to idle. Turned it off and lost about 500ml of fluid all over my drive way and it was legit...
I hope they posted this time! And Im still losing a bunch of tranny fluid, just cant determine where it comes from haha, sorry about the mess up on the post!
