I have overseen one of these projects where I helped out a buddy of mine regear his Wrangler. Only thing is that I did see why one might have to re shim the pinion side of things since these were straight up after market parts we are installing so tolerances need to be adjusted. However, since I...
Howdy folks! I have a question involving the replacement of a carrier for an aftermarket locking differential. I want to keep the ring and pinion gears since I want to keep the stock 3.06 gear ratio found on the M1009 in its stock configuration. I see a lot of information involving the the...
I tried tuning the wiper speed adjustment knob, the washer tab, doing nothing, pulling firmly out, you name it. If anyone knows the exact steps it would be very appreciated.
Just a quick question folks. So I was diagnosising some problems with my wiper motor, and I replaced it and problem solved. But I have a new side project I want to work on. Does anyone know how to remove that turn signal lever? (The switch is 100% operational, I just want to replace it for...
I had spent some time thinking about that, but 120RPM is 2 turns per second, and I definitely was doing more than that at one point. Certainly faster than in any product video I saw for it haha. The only time I got it to work was after I braked, then slowly turned the wheel (maybe like 80 RPM)...
My horn stopped working once. The way I fixed it was by taking the front grill off and the horn is near the driver's side headlight. There is a connector that allowed the horn to work when I pressed on it, so I got a new connector, soldered everything together, problem solved.
The magnet had minor particles, no chunks, or anything above what you might consider iron dust... I tried it at all different RPMs, from the one tire just barely moving, to fast enough to sling a bit of dirt. I never touched the diff as far as parts go, only replaced the fluid and everything...
Hey all, I decided recently to try to test out the rear traction device that the M1009's are known to have. I saw a video online once on how to test a G80 (and I figured the test should probably work for my truck) which was the jack up both rear wheel and spin one by hand one way (the other...
Hello Everyone! Another day another project right? So I have been thinking. I am tired (pun intended) of carrying my spare in the trunk and I want to make a swing out tire carrier. I am aware that there have been lots of posts about this on the forums, however the reason why I am making this...
Hello everyone, sorry for the second question I had today, and I apologize for the repetitive nature of this question of the forum, but I did have a couple questions to hopefully clear up some grey area answers on the matter. I have an M1009, slowly turning it into an overlanding vehicle. For...
Howdy folks, happy (almost) Thanksgiving! Had a quick question to anyone out there that's reading this! I have an M1009 with what appears to be the factory wheels from the military. I do not have a spare, and I am wishing to get one since I plan to do some very long distance drives with her and...
Howdy folks, wishing everyone a great week ahead! I had a question about my latest project to my M1009 and some advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. I am installing a single DIN radio (made a center console for it, may post pics once its all done) and I will be using 4 speakers with...
I will definitely look into it if that is what it comes to haha, but as a side note, I noticed today that when I turn my wipers on, and they are actively running their full wipe cycle, it actually doesn't go as far as they used to by about an inch... How is this possible when the whole thing...
Yep, and it still returns too high especially when running. Also, I can't move them by hand, they are indeed too high, and it wasn't when driving. I was parked at the time when I noticed! Weird huh?
Howdy folks, wishing everyone a great weekend. Has been raining here for several days so the CUCV (M1009) has seen a lot of rain, and thus the need for wipers. Whenever I turn the wipers off, they usually park at the right spot (maybe .5 inches from the lowest portion of the wiping action at its...
Here's a pic of the socket... Seems clean, with some electric grease on there, and shows no sign on water damage or fatigue... Still gonna replace it though... Also, I am getting 1M ohm on the two wires that aren't the blue hot wire. Not sure if that's normal or not.
I agree, although I find it strange that there has not been anything that obvious, plus also I am not sure at all why the problem happens when I turn the turn signal on, and stays that way until I actually pop the bulb in and out of the socket again... Also, I am indeed using those bulbs. They...
Hey all, I thought I'd take a chance to try to explain a running light issue I've been having for a while, and after some time of working on it (a long time) I think in just about ready to try percussive maintenance haha. Okay, I'm going to try to explain this as best I can so bear with me...
Alright that sounds like a good plan. I am just going to bleed it until it's onl purple. Personally I think that while using denatured alcohol is the "right way" to do it, I also think seeing as how these two materials don't mix or interact with one another, bleeding to purple might not be so...
