Daybreak thanks for the great info and for selling me a couple of these. I have a couple questions though. Is the wellnut inserted from the outside of the tank? When tightening to 40 in lbs how do I keep the wellnut from spinning?
Thanks.
Brought home a low hour MEP-803a today ('07 model). Made the rookie mistake of filling it with fuel at the gas station on the way home. Well it has the dreaded wellnut leak. Lots of diesel in the flatbed. I already have a new wellnut on the way from Daybreak.
Does the low fuel shutoff...
Has anyone reconfigured an MMG25 for 120/240v single phase? I called the manufacturer and they said they have 12 wire genheads and can be rewired using a selector switch or simply rewire to single phase. How involved is this?
My genset is many miles away so can't take a photo but I am talking about the screws to remove the fuel filler. The top screw has no access to the nut behind it.
Thinking about it further though I don't think I will have to remove the fuel filler to get the side panel off and adjust the float.
Thanks. I figured 1/4 was way too soon. Looks like the panel is coming off. Anyone have good tips for re-installing the screw at 12:00 above the fuel cap?
My MEP-802a shuts down at 1/4 tank on the fuel gauge. I know how to adjust the "no fuel" float having done it on a different 802a that was shutting down with over 1/2 tank.
The manual doesn't mention when it should be shutting down. I know the float bar should be 1/16th of an inch from the...
What are the led triangles? The guy I bought mine said he swapped the bulbs to 12v. All my lights work. He said the tail lights also have some sort of night vision built in for lights out convoy driving.
Mine came with an wiring harness he made to plug into a standard round socket.
Well I towed my LTT-TQG setup 1,200 miles to Montana and it didn't slow me down at all. Couldn't tell it was back there running at 80 - 82 mph. I had the tires at 20psi.
Nice discovery Kloppk! I haven't tried just panel lights yet at night. If I can't see the gauges I will order these. Do you mind posting the info on the bulbs? Let or regular bulbs?
Thanks. So fuel will always come out but if water is present it will come out first? I drained it again with the control in prime and run and got the a consistent supply of the same density fuel.
I'm guessing that if water is present it will eventually separate and sink to the bottom of my...
My 2002 MEP-802a with 150 hours has a NAPA fuel filter/water separator. I removed the drain today and got approximately 3/4 cup of liquid (tank has red dye diesel).
Can I assume that this liquid has a high percentage of water? If nothing comes out during future drains can I assume my fuel has...
I fixed my "no fuel" shutdown problem today. My dual float switch was probably 1 1/2" off the bottom of the tank. The TM spec is 1/16". My switch was in good shape and looked new. It probably was since it was clear they were trying to fix a fuel related issue and gave up.
The assembly does...
Maybe I am wrong about my 2002 802a. I just checked a photo from GL and it has the black gauges. My friend picked up his '04 802a today and it has black gauges.
My 2002 802a doesn't have the gauges with the bulbs. It looks like they can be added though if the part could be sourced. My 2000 802a has the bulbs. Go figure.
Well I can confirm that a standard pallet jack is too narrow for the skids. We had a bunch of wood with us and were able to use the ends of the pallet forks to jack it up and get blocks of wood under it and put the pallet forks under the skids. We got it on the Tommy Lift of an F350 flatbed...
I won't be able to dig into mine until Tuesday but my thinking is if the mechanism is more than 1/16" of an inch off the floor of the tank it would make it more likely that the float could vibrate down. My gauge is showing 3/4 full. I have a bottle of Supertech fuel injector cleaner in the...
