Another option for mounting the tag...

I did the same thing except I just removed the pintle itself. I left the pintle mount and then drilled a couple of holes in it to mount the plate. I had to remove the trailer light hookup but am planning of changing that to a "rv" style hookup. Then I just put a cheap plate light along side...

    Gen 1 light problem

I know if sounds dumb but replace the fuse just for the heck of it. Awhile back my oh9 was doing the same thing. I pulled the fuse, it wasn't blown and looked fine. I was shining it up a little with a knife when it fell apart in my hands. So I popped in a new fuse and it solved my issue...

    spin on filter kit reccomendations

I did the set up as Blue2actual has the link up to and had no issues all winter. It was down to -30 a couple of mornings here. I use my oh9 as my daily driver also. I did add powerfluid all winter but a buddy said he never added anything all winter here. 2cents

A couple electrical issues with M1009

:ditto: If that doesn't do the trick try replacing the heater fuse. There seems to be a hidden circuit going through that with Gen1. At least that's how I fixed my Gen1 dim light issue. But mine only would be on dim when I had the heater going. I don't imagine that's an issue in Hawaii! My...

    Fuel Leak /unknown location

Here's the numbers I got. I found them in a thread awhile back so I can't take credit for finding them originally. The housing for the filter is NAPA 4309 and the NAPA filter is 3123. The filter has the fuel/water seperator. The housing has 1/2 in pipe thread so you'll need adaptors from pipe to...

    Fuel Leak /unknown location

Blue2actual --- That's the exact same thing that mine was doing. I guess it's a common problem with this setup. Mine was bad enough I could smell fuel driving down the road. I replaced mine w/a housing and screw on filter from NAPA and solved all my issues. It's an easy swap! :grd:

What oil do you run in a 6.2

The first oil change I used Rotella T5 10-30. It was supposed to have the same protection as the 15-40. I figured it would be better flowing in winter and used a Fram filter. After about 1200 miles the motor started getting louder and I was having some oil leaks, fittings etc. So I changed to...

Just a few reasons it's good to own a CUCV...

Thought about it, strongly. But.......... Oh yeah, it was cracking me up but this way he couldn't say I was doing it on purpose. Revving it would of been to obvious...........but oh so much funnier.:D

Just a few reasons it's good to own a CUCV...

Had a good one this morning. Sitting in a parking lot idling, minding my own business. When the local "green" guy parks next to me with his electric car, my exhaust by his closed window. You know the car, the sardine can with 2 seats taking up the entire car and has 8 inch tires. I'm kind of...

Just a few reasons it's good to own a CUCV...

I love irritating my daughter with it. She seems to think it's not cool. So, whenever we're going somewhere we take the oh9. That's when you find out how bad she want's to go. :wink:Also ticks her off when her Grand Am is stuck in the snow in the yard and I hand her the shovel out of the oh9...

    have to bleed

I had the same issue and found that the bottom of the filter was damp from fuel. Not much, just enough to mess things up. I changed over to a spin on filter and that solved the problem. If you can't get Adobe to work on your computer you could try Foxit reader. Sometimes that will work when...

GEN1dim light w/heater on fix and other things

I had GEN1 being dimly lit when I ran the heater. I tightened up the belt and still had the same issue, must be the batteries. It seemed to be charging just fine so I had 2 batteries here with threaded top posts. I bought 4 top post adapters and put them in but still had the same issue. So...

Made it home with my new 1009

Looking good. How are you planning on supporting the stereo and where are the speakers going? I'm thinking of putting mine in the same place but haven't started cutting yet. I'd like to put the speakers behind the front seats but don't want wires laying around. So much to do with so little...

Whats the best glow plug for the cucv

Mine took quite a bit of cranking to get it going. So 3 weeks ago I replaced them with the AC60G's and it now starts in 3-4 seconds. The ones that were pulled were Wellman 070's. Tested them and 2 were open. I will say though, none of them were swelled, something I was really concerned with...

    4 Hour Oil Change

That's not cool at all. I've got the usual filter wrenches and they usually work but if they don't. I've got a filter removal tool that has 1/2 in. drive and has three "fingers". You fit it over the end of the filter and as you ratchet it the fingers clamp down on the filter. I've yet to...

CUCV M1009 Radiator cover - Available and where?

I was using cardboard but it can get wet. So, I threw a couple of dog food bags in there instead. These have a covering on them so they don't get wet. They're not real pretty but functional.

    need some Gen 2 help

Surprises are sometimes good. When they include sparks, not so much. You always seem to learn more when things go wrong. I learned today!! But at the same time I was working on dash lights. So, I needed to be able to check what was going on. With the neg. off I'd have to keep getting out...

    need some Gen 2 help

Thanks for the diagram but I'll be danged if I can find a spot on the control to install the light. I had it out and looked it over pretty well. But, then again, I couldn't find the right fuse placement for my other ordeal. I'll pull it out and look again later. THIS time I'm going to pull...

    need some Gen 2 help

Dash is back togethor. If I remember right they were black and gray and behind the voltmeter, hanging down. I only have the one Blazer so I don't have anything to compare it to. FYI the lights I have are: the fuel gauge, speedometer and supposed to have one on the voltmeter(it's shot). I thougt...

    need some Gen 2 help

Just an update. Got the fuse replaced and she's up and running again! Not an excuse, but the fuse in that panel was a 15 amp. Really not sure why that was. Basically, I just went into overdrive when things didn't come up correctly. So it's been an interesting afternoon. I thougt I had bulbs out...
