When it gets below zero I do that sometimes. Just can’t be stupid with your mix. 3/4 to 1 gallon of gas per 100 gallon of diesel MAX! I usually only do that if I run out of regular treatment. Most of the time I run either Stanadyne or the white bottle 911. Never gelled up once last year in a...
My Humvee sits outside year round and has never given me issues as long as I have good glow plugs. If temps are below 20° most times I will plug in the heater. Mine is an in-line heater on a main radiator hose. Doesn’t work very good! I recommend getting on that goes in a frost plug hole or...
Is your fan on all the time? My temp sensor for my fan is bad so my fan runs all the time. With fan running all the time it stays right around the 180° area. When the fan is working right and cycling on and off it stays around 220°. When the temp outside is below 25° or so the fan doesn’t...
Here is the information that the Colorado DMV sent out to everyone in 2019. Only way to get on road Colorado plates is to license it as a historical military vehicle. Anyone who had an on road title for their military vehicles had their current titles cancelled and were mailed off road only...
My Humvee will sit and idle or even go on short trips without over heating but a few miles down the road it starts climbing in temp. Turns out I had a bad connection on my TDM the way disengaging the fan clutch when I was moving.
I will try to find the paper to back this up but I am pretty sure Colorado will not allow military vehicles to be on road titled anymore. That’s how I got my black Humvee. The guy that owned it traded it to me before his title got recalled. Somewhere I still have the letter the Colorado DMV sent...
My first Humvee was hard too and hard doors and my second is soft top and soft doors. I don’t notice much of a difference as far as road noise but the soft doors seal way better and don’t rattle. The soft top and doors also seems to hold heat in better in the winter time. The hard top/doors...
Quite a few of the exhaust manifold bolts have come loose and fell out on my 6.5 in my Humvee. Does anyone know what size they are? I haven’t had much luck looking them up online. I think they are 10.9x1.5....maybe???? Any help would be greatly appreciated

The red dot works excellent with a soft top. I honestly think the heat and AC work better on my soft top than the hard top I had. The aluminum roof and doors sucked the heat and cold out pretty fast. I run it sometimes with all four windows down and you can still feel cool air circulating in...
Colorado a couple of years ago announced that they were going to be recalling all on road titles for military vehicles and sending you off road only titles. Lots of Humvees went up for sale quick after that. Sounds like more and more states are looking into that route. Here in Nebraska my first...
When I moved mine to the proper side I had the same issue. The metal piece that connects the motor to the arms that go to the wipers can be set in two positions. Set it 180° from how you have it and it will fix your issues. It’s only notched to sit either how you have it or 180° the other way.
Well so far I have it fixed. I took the starter off and tore the solenoid down and cleaned and greased everything inside. It had a very small amount of corrosion in there that I cleaned off with a wire brush. Put the starter back on (nightmare project by yourself that ended up with the ground...
Won’t crank above 120° or so. Last week it was over 100° outside and the black Humvee was sitting in the sun all afternoon and wouldn’t start when I went to leave. Trailered it home and still wouldn’t start. Walked out about 11pm when the temp was down around 80° and it fired right up.
This...
4th of July is coming up so time to decorate the Humvee. These pictures are from last year. Going to try to build better flag holders that are quick attach today and get it ready for this year.
I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue with the starter solenoid not working when the engine is warm? It starts every time when it’s cool but once the engine hits 120° or so it won’t start again. I have power everywhere I should and when I turn the ignition I get 24v to the started...
My H2 has 17” rims on it and I have swapped them back and forth with my Humvee and my 2002 Dodge 2500. Had a blown tire and needed the Humvee so I swapped rims/tires off H2 onto Humvee and had no problems. I also have put the Humvee rims/tires and H2 rims/tires on the Dodge to see if the 37’s...
