Well the original door are Kevlar reinforced fiberglass. not sheet metal so most people want the original doors not just something to hang on some hinges. They also had window tracks in them and windows.
OP Sounds like you should be the one to make them as you seem to think there so easy to make .
the switch is on the wiper motor. that is the only switch. If you have a soft top HMMWV you have 3 contacts on the body under the windshield frame and on the bottom of the windshield frame.
Adding a 4 speed tranny to a slant back truck with a 6.5 is far easier then finding a complete slant back setup nowadays.
I doubt you will find many slant back trucks in Ca. for less then $30k . But that's just me.
As others have said RWH is a wealth of information and a great source for repair...
Ok Jason just because you don't have it doesn't mean they didn't make it.
I don't know the part # or what TM it's listed in but they made one. 86 humv might know. I got it from him.
Do you plan on putting any gear on your hatch . like the netting. I'd go with the heavy ones if it was me. No difference in length just the amount of weight they will hold up and if you don't have much weight then you will just have to exert a bit more to close the hatch.
BH
I think he will do Tan.
I'd drop him a email .
He may be willing to sew up material provided. ( not sure but worth a try
I have a few links to some material suppliers someplace
I think you missed his point.
The way I took it is pretty much verbatim on how he said it this is a HMMWV forum .
Not a modification forum.
At least that is how I read his "there are plenty of rock crawling forums"
