As far as I know, swapping guts in the tranny is not an option. There are trannies with more speeds that will bolt up, but they require moving the t-case back. There is a thread on the 5 ton forum about swapping in an 8 speed. That tranny should bolt up to the LDT-465 with the correct...
Your CD should go out Monday. I bought a new computer and have just figured out the CD burner (not as computer savvy as the average 12 year old!). I have quite a collection of paper manuals, there is something satisfying to me about reading a real book (weird, I know). I don't take my paper ones...
Hint: If you a really good lifespan duece, repower it with a DT466 from Deere. They are an honest workhorse, and require essentially the same footprint so as to make an easier repower than a "V" or longer engine.

Anyone ever done that swap? I don't know anything about the DT466, CID, HP...
I have the same issue when shipping. I can only ship to the address on the credit card or I lose my fraud protection. Considering the number of people who make their living defrauding others, this is something I have to take seriously.
If I know the person from past dealings, I will make...
I am going to try to make this years event. Those of us from this part of the world could meet in Atlanta and convoy to the show. There is more strength in numbers!
Perfectly all right! My truck came out of the Army with 1100R20 G286 rasials, so I drive it that way. If I had bought a truck with duals, I would probably drive it that way.
On that note, however, mine does drive very nicely on the radials. Mine gets its share of 240-300 mile trips, and the...
The paper manuals show up on E-Bay from time to time. Many of the manuals can be downloaded for free from the tech manual section.
I just mailed out a batch of CD manuals for the deuce (I know guys, late!). If you send me your address, I'll get one out to you eventually. I can be a bit slow in...
Bjorn, maybe a good tire type for your truck?
Last time I was at Bergs, there were plenty of those tires in the warehouse.
We really need to make a road trip up there......
BFR, 73M819, Clinto, Joe Schaeffer....... up to it?
The tires fit better than I would have expected! The bulge is not as noticeable with that tread design. I would imagine a street tread would look a little worse.
If you ran 60-70 psi., you would be able to run these as singles and be OK. We always wanted 2" between the duals to keep the tires...
My radials never have given me the "flat spot bump", down to 25 degrees. That is the coldest I have driven the truck.
Nylon bias ply tires will hop all over the road until they warm up.
Another thing, are you sure it is the bearings? If the noise is there in 5th (OD) and 4th (direct), it is probably the front or rear tranny bearing. If there is no noise in 4th, you could have the intermediate bearings, or a bad gear.
When you get it torn down, let us know. We Yanks can help...
If you need to, you can order the bearings from Saturn Surplus or Memphis Equipment. I believe Boyce also carries them.
Often, you can buy the bearing replacement kit that has all the bearings needed for the transmission.
