RE: Re: Don
rmgill,
You seem to know something, I searched repatriation but nothing came up. Is there some unwritten rule about returning MV's to the gov't upon demand in the case of a national emergency. Or is that urban legend. Not voluntary like you posted? I'm worried more about a bogus...
Sarge,
Yeah, I just had some of the same pm comms with another leo member.
I posted so everyone could hear about the experience, maybe would add some color/exitement for the forum. Have a laugh at my time/expense.
But in the end, I don't have any grudge with the ISP, no hard feelings either...
FreightTrain,
Sure, I let em, I've got nothing to hide. But don't forget "Because of 911 you can understand why we have to..." carries a lot of weight with a patriotic american. OTOH when they used it for the frisking...well.
Funny, Ron
Update
I called the Illinois State Police to see if the squad window cam video was available for my traffic stop. Well apparantly in IL they are turned on or off at will, so there isn't one(x3 state police squads). No paperwork was filed for my traffic stop, so it never happened as...
Jon,
No, no, no, I had an serrated pocket knife for cutting the Parade banners paracord in my pocket(but bad enough in Cook County,IL). And with the two State Police girl Supervisors doing the 'Barney Fyfe' holdover for at least 15 minutes solid(whew). Well, they were making up for their petite...
oivet,
All I want is a state issued 'Get out of lonnnggg traffic stop cards'... ya know, when the title, license and plates come back clean we could just be let on our way.
Mike,
You could be right, since the local cop was out of his jurisdiction, everything was conveyed to me second hand thru the State Police. So I couldn't get a read on his face for his honesty.
Rattlehead,
"Well because of 911..." was used to begin a long line of sketchy requests. Maybe that is...
lenz1079,
You're gonna be alright, no one wants to deal with DB's. They'll set you up with a title and plates after you tell em how many DB's you can carry in you're Deuce!
RE: good pics
MadDawg308,
Tell me about it. The Naperville St Pats Day Parade regs said no alcohol - anyhow, anywhere. The people were really freezing for the parade.
After the Naperville St. Pats Day Parade we were all pumped up from festive reception we got as we drove through town. Even though the temps were in the 30's with a good breeze going, the constant crowd managed cheering, waving, and saluting our MV's the whole way. So we took the banners and...
RE: St. Pattys Day
Mike,
Sure Mike I remember you.
Worthy of a thread of its own, soon to come.
But it involved all, local and state, a true three ring circus in the end. On the I355 Tollway in Lombard.
But I did get a police escort(which was cool) for the next 10 miles to LilRuthie's garage...
Cold temps didn't dampen anyone's spirits in Naperville for their St. Pats Day parade. A happy and cheering mile through the center of town with hardly any empty curb space.
There was the 'not so typical" concentrated group of 20 or so parents and children who refused to smile, wave, or salute...
Wait till the naacp googles "slave" lookin' for reparations... Uncle Sam's gonna have to ante up. Maybe even SS, heck we're all still buyin' and sellin' em. :)
