    M1009 as a daily driver

Thank you all for your replies. So it seems that everyone agrees that the 09 gets 20+mpg with combined driving. What does everyone who lives in snow areas do to keep them running well during the winter months? Engine block heaters and anti gel additives as any other diesel? Bill

    M1009 as a daily driver

I have owned 4 6.2 powered trucks over the years. A m1009, air force crew cab c20, civi suburban, and a k5 blazer. The 09 was the only one that did not have a 4 speed auto, but it was not my daily driver. With this said, how is the m1009 to drive on a daily basis? I would imagine that highway...

    Chuc-vee questions

I did drive it and it was just like I remember. It was about 55 degrees and the engine was cold. I cycled the plugs twice with 10 second bursts and pumped the go pedal twice and she came to life. A little light conensation smoke then she cleared right up. The body only has two bad spots. The...

    Chuc-vee questions

I was assigned a m1009 in the navy. It was battleship grey and the paint was anti radar. After the navy I purchased one and sold it about a year later. Now flash forward 13 years and here I am looking for another one. My problem is I can't for the life of me remember what is 12 volt and what is...

    Seat Sawppin'

I would still remove the seat and rails as one unit. This will allow you to get two the four bolts underneath the seat easier. Take the blazer rails off the seats and mount them on your new seats, then install the new seats with rails back into your truck, and your done. Bill

    Seat Sawppin'

Most GM seats are bolted to the seat slider (rails) And use the same bolt pattern to bolt the seat the the frame rail in every gm car. What differs from car to car is the floor pan mounting locations on the rails themselves. I have pontiac boneville bucket seats in a cadillac fleetwood that had...
