I agree on the vac test first. I want to change out the filter drier first. I can get enough r22, 30lb bottle for just under 400. Which I can live with if the unit is good. I cant wait to get it all working so I can set up my 2 16 x 16 temper tents.
Everything else is there. I ordered an actuator on Ebay, it should be here this weekend. Then the genset should be good to go. Now I'm working on the ECU as the refrigerant was recovered. I'm hoping its leak free before I buy atleast 18lbs of r22.
Suprman, the fuel rail moves freely. But when I go to start it the actuator controller (Apecs 2000) fails out on bad actuator preventing the engine from cranking. I could bypass the controller and try to start it, but my luck I would damage something else.
Thanks PorkysPlace, those are newer units. Mine has an isuzu 4le1 engine. Now I know why it's not cranking, the actuator is missing. Now to find what it looks like and a part number.
Good afternoon everyone. I'm back into the green addiction after a couple years of saving money. Haha. I just picked up a Drash trailer from Chambersburg and it's missing the DC volt meter and the oil pressure gauge. I'm not too worried about the volt meter, but the oil gauge has alot of wires...
There is a member on here, Sewerzuk. He used a PLC for auto starting the MEP-003A. He has a lot of good generator info. Here is a link. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?72722-MEP-003A-with-PLC-controlled-auto-start&highlight=
Welcome 1Moe, the barge company is going to love you. Where did you get the trucks at? I bet things havent changed much in Cordova since 2006, when I left.
If you ever need a hand I'm in Valdez, well most of the time. There is a m36 here in Valdez for sale, its on the sales cycle. It needs a bunch of work.
Sir, you do whatever is needed to migrate the server. If its down for a day or 2, well that's 2 days of getting stuff done as opposed to sitting here on the computer.
I pull the glow plugs whenever I do major fuel repairs on the CUCV's. Its a lot easier on the batteries and it spins over faster. It also helps to unplug the wire from the IP while bleeding the filter, less air makes it to the high pressure side that way.
I have to agree with Steelandcanvas. With the compression these engines run I would not want the torque to be off. And from what I've always been told you don't want to use edges of the wrench range. I would beg, borrow, or buy a good torque wrench. It beats redoing the gaskets. On the other...
You could remove the injector to kill the cylinder from firing, but don't plug the IP line it will dead head the pump. Instead put a hose on the end of the line and run it to a container or the tank. If it is cyl 6 you can plug the return line as the fuel exits the #1 cyl. Good luck.
