    Prestolite alternator install.

Here goes. After burning up two stock alternators I decided to try something different. I purchased a Prestolite 8sa3064p from ebay. This unit is very similar to the ones we use in the 41' UTB's, and they never have problems. So I thought what the h*ll. I used the existing bracket by welding...

    Phase converter or gererator?

Your confusing the MEP-002a with another generator. The 002a is good for 17ish amps at 208 3ph. That info sounds a little high.

Well I brought the heater trailer out of summer hibernation today. And like usual it has a problem. There is a check valve or metering valve that is cracked(pics attached). It runs good it's just leaking. I cant find a manual on this particular model. Does any body have a lead on one...

I just noticed that too after Porkysplace's post.

Design flaws? Torque rod, split rims?

On the split rim, there is a tube thats leaking not the rim itself, its just escaping at the ring. I would imagine an engineer designed the torque rod setup with the knoledge of the day. 2cents Both work fine if you maintain them and replace worn parts wheen needed, its just dangerous changing...

    Broke my A3 dogbone

Your looking for torque rod ends. They are pressed into the torque rod or "dog bone", you need a pretty good press to do the job. I think most of the MV suppliers and guys on this site sell them. Good luck. Edit: http://www.saturnsurplus.com/m35/m35-6.htm Here ya go 38.50 ea.

Smooth in park/neutral, rough in drive

I was having a shaking problem with mine also. Great in park but it shook pretty good in gear stopped. Then one morning I went to move the m1009 and the only gear I seem to have left is neutral. Guess its time for a trans. rebuild. The pump is hardly pumping any fluid. Hopefully yours will be a...
