Well sorted out the fuel and now changed the bad glow plugs however the plugs I was sold fried in 2 days. Checked the plugs and they say rated up to 17.5 volts. Checked on many other listings from different sources all are rated up to 20.5 volts. I am getting 23.5 volts through all glow plug...
I read 23.5V at the plug connectors and rating on the replacement plugs states 20.5V does anyone know if this is the reason they burned out? I just replaced them and already 2 days later they are gone...any input will be welcome as I do not wish to go too far without knowing the actual problem
Well I took the GPs out they're fried now I have the WAIT light blinking for 10 secs or so, how do I know 100% if the unit is fried? I have a spare box
I've had starting issues as well, Wait light would come one cycle and all but not start. Replaced plugs now the light won't stay on, starts right up but no wait light. Goes on for a second and turns off, relay does click. Also replaced temp sensor, wondering if grounding could be an issue being...
SAme problem here, wit light would come on indicate warmup and shut off after 8-10 seconds now the plugs have been changed and the light won't stay on at all anymore, starts up fine...but the wait light is no longer on at all just light up and shuts off
Finally got it started but it took a while to get all of the air out. Runs fine and starts right up after shut off but after sitting a few hours has the same issue again. Tried finding leaks but so far not clear where the air is getting into the fuel lines. At first it was hard for me to believe...
Has anyone checked with paint shops on CARC paint prices, how does it compare $$? I too am getting started on my truck I just bought in MA, as matter of fact still waiting for it to get here. Had the option to buy a fiberglass top with it and also a civilian H1 top was available howver decided...
I know of a body with frame and suspension (not sure how complete) available on the west coast if anyone is interested PM and I will provide contact info and pictures I recieved,
Sam
Here some pictures of the truck parts in boxes are strapped in the bed, two/three regular sized boxes (20"x20") all strapped and secured but do not have pictures of them on there just the truck
I have shippeda Hummer from Chicago to Newark NJ with the actual company that did the haul not a BROKER for $675 so I'd say make sure you are working with a CARRIER not a BROKER otherwise it can become a big waste of time. I've had 2 no shows and overpriced compared to what I paid in the end..
Runs and drives has everything from what I could tell except battery cover seat base, air intake cap and hood grille..so far at least, some parts taken off but came with looking to transport to IL from MA
Going out tomorrow morning to buy a M1038 wish me luck hope it's as described and here a few pictures. Any opinions and advice are welcome, long trip ahead got to leave at 6AM
Started my research and ended here. I am looking to get a rolling chassis with a body basically a good start for a HMMWV project. So far I have had some good input on what and where and have a few sources, I hope all goes well. I am still searching for a nice tub/chassis, what I am unsure of is...
