I started you off with a small "go fund me" donation and shared through my facebook. Yes they take a percentage 2% if I am not mistaken but you get National viability this way. Best of luck for your campaign!

I agree 100% which is also why I think it needs to be promoted on a larger scale. I will be glad to assist with that if you would like me to, but I will not be able to start on it for about 10 days, as I am heading out to the field in wonderful FT Bragg, NC tomorrow. Yeah in...

Or use their success stories since mine is just starting out. http://www.gofundme.com/crowdfunding-websites/

I think many military veterans not just us collectors would see the merit in your efforts. I think you should try a crowd funding site such as www.gofundme.com
this way you can blog about your efforts, and promote our hobby and about the need to preserve our historic vehicles in general nation...
I forget the owner but he is up in the Pacific Northwest / WA area, the story is this was a prototype jeep vehicle that was never put into production. It mostly used 151 parts.

I am a Georgia property owner in Columbus, I am also active duty military. I have not done much with my M35A2, and my CUCV besides the occasional parade/veterans event. I did use my truck for a Do it yourself move (DITY) from FT Lewis, Wa to FT Rucker, AL (TDY) to my final destination of FT...
I had to register my deuce as commercial (but for non commercial use) and pay tonnage on it, because the office at the Lakewood Town center had never done a MV before.
Hey PB, talk to WSUCOUGARX (aka Mike Henderson) in Washington several fellows up there have 900 series 5tons plated. Also Oregon too like goodguyzy.

I had gone to the Lakewood Town Center tag office, they were not familiar with anyone registering MV's as historic I ended up paying for commercial plates with a "non commercial use disclaimer" the lady there said she could not do historic on my Deuce because it weighed to much. I knew better...
ETS: Expiration Term of Service
DITY: Do-It-Yourself (move)
ETP: Exception to Policy
ADOS: Active Duty for Operational Support
NGB: National Guard Bureau
PPM: Personal Procurement Move (new term for DITY)
depends, larger tires (37" HMMWV) on my M1008 give a bit more speed at lower RPM's. Also the M1009 Blazer was geared for higher speeds than the M1008/M1028/ M1031's. On a unrelated note I just drove my Deuce and a half from WA to GA then on NC. Nothing wrong with driving 55, everyone is in...
I saw this post too Papabear, honestly I would not be too worked up. This post is poorly articulated and does not even make much sense. I hope you all manage to get your trucks registered (correctly of course). Besides it was your post, not your thread maybe but I digress.

Hopefully you can find someone in the GA DMV that is prior military to help with this? Rob Mikell is the Commissioner and he graduated from the Citadel, not sure if he served though. http://www.dds.ga.gov/aboutus/CommissionerBio.aspx, I'll keep digging some.
