I recently pulled my wellman 070's... 5 were swollen bad, 2 were swolen enough to cause resistance during removal, and the best still required a little tug to remove.... all of these glow plugs tested good weeks earlier, only took 1 bad start to smoke them (gp module burned up)....
mine was similar.... the horn button was long gone, and there is evidence of where water sat stagnent within the steering wheel... i also soaked mine in wd-40 and was finally able to get it off 2 days later with a puller. bent the puller bolts and scared the tip of the steering shaft with the...
the above link does not seem to work for me...
as i left the 1028 last nite, i double checked everything to make sure everything was on and tight.... leaving the hood open
key on, hit the push button for about 10 seconds (probably like 6 to 8 in reality) released the button, hit the key again...
no connections were loose, gp relay tests good (recently replaced anyways) and the resistor bank looks and tests ok...
the glow plugs... 1 slight mushroom, 2 a small struggle to remove, and 5 were a total pain in the rear as they were swollen bad...
between the gp's and the resistor bank, it...
i am not posting this in search of advice but more for informational purposes regarding the GP module... i was not sure where to post this as i did not want to jack another thread, but did notice my 86 model GP module is different that other pictures i have seen within SS.

Went to...
Assuming all is well with our 1028, I am planning on being there..... not sure which day now though...
if I attend on... Sat, 20th either solo or +1 (9yr old daughter)
Sun, 21st would most likely be +2 (wife and daughter)
Personally planning on mild wheeling and taking...
Hollister has campsites..... but no wheelin after dark....
If I can make it, I will have to be back Saturday night...... Likewise there is a good chance my 9yr old daughter will be with me....
Glad I found this thread....
March 20/21.... Where?
Pismo would be out of the question for me but Hollister or the bay area would be good, as I would only be able to participate on the 20th....
No promises though.... My newly aquired M1028 is up and running now, but still has a laundry list...
Picked up my replacement t-case today....
turns out he is also on this forum... never got his screen name but if he happen to read this, thanks again!!!
yes i would prefer a 205, but a free 208 is hard to argue..... and i need something i can slap into it at minimal costs so i can work out any bugs it may have.... toy budget is low right now....
Possible good news for my M1028....
And little more insite on me and my new M1028.
I was looking for a 3/4 ton parts truck for one of our blazers when I came across a pair of MV Guru's. From them I purchased the m1028. When I explained my t-case issue to the one i bought it from, and asked if...
well..... monday i start looking for a np208. the case was damaged during transport.
looks like I might be in need of an alternator or two. dead batteries and noisy alt. bearings, go figure on both sides.
Found my bunk, stowed my gear.... now I'm off to the motor pool as i need to check out the t-case and replace the bent cross member. (hopefully sooner than later)
Thanks again for the warm welcomes.... :-D
i noticed that..... looks good
should you ever find yourself in need of more of the bowtie plates, check with any old chevy restoration company..... year one, original parts group.... ect...
the "story" i was told about the truck, is that it was a frire retardant truck on a runway.... ready for use but rarley used. i am aware that it could all be b.s. but i tend to believe the guy i got it from. there are a few other things that would support the theory too, like the pedals showing...
