I would call up one of the companys that is makeing canvas for M35's and ask if they can make you one. Most companys (New life Cavas, Beachwood Canvas) will make a custom part. I would just send them pictures of what you are looking for.
Make sure they are the ones off Of the M113 APC family. The ones that Maddawg308 has picture are from a main battle tank such as a M60. the ones on the M113 are closer to waht you are looking for but I think you will have to fabricate the mounting brackets.2cents

I used a peace of cable from a bike lock for mine just for the time being. The original spring looks kinda like a roto ruter cable but really dont want to by a hole role of cable when I only need to feet. so I might just stick with cable for now
