The stuff is black and like rubber or rtv. I couldn’t pull it out and didn’t need to go to bare metal, so I used a sharp chisel and carefully scraped the stuff off.

In removing the windshield and seal, i found black rtv all around the pinchweld. Is this factory rtv? In watching windshield install videos- I havent seen anyone use rtv. Any thoughts anyone?
Radiator did not have a fitting for the coolant level sensor so I drilled and tapped a plug. 1/8 - 27 tap. Said 5/16" drill, but the bottom of sensor would not fit so drilled one size up. Not an issue since it is a taper tap. Plenty of clearance in radiator for sensor.
Okay....an important follow up. This radiator isn’t an exact fit. Almost. I had to fabricate custom mounting pads as the tank is smaller than the Harrison. It also needed to be raised up to allow the top clamps to work. In all, I probably spent an hour making it work. Had to trim plastic...
OEM/NOS vs LMC
Green is NOS, white is LMC.
LMC pops out if you try to adjust headlight. 2 out of the 4 arms broke off!

I still have my old Harrison. I am having that recored..but they want nearly $500 to do it...so it will be on the back burner. It needs to be boiled out and pressure tested too.
Just called Reliable Radiator and they said painting the tanks would be fine, but didn't recommend painting the core.
